I love this place! The people are so kind and helpful! Doctors are top notch! Very impressed. (3 weeks ago)

I guess I gotta start somewhere with complaining. I was admitted in April for an induction. I was 39+6 weeks pregnant with my baby boy. I had gestational hypertension, severely low amniotic fluid, I failed an NST, and an Ultrasound test my Dr ordered. Plus my cervix was having issues dilating. Basically I was bullied and told by a nurse that my induction wasn't necessary making me feel like if I went through with it I was putting my unborn child in danger. Even after I started hysterically crying from fear, she STILL kept going. Telling me I should just go home. She did this twice. The second time my husband made it clear that we were going to wait to hear from the Dr (bc she came into my room while the Dr was off somewhere else saying there was a good chance he'd send me home since he'd sent people home after taking them off epidural.) I get trying to educate people, but using scare tactics on a mother isn't cool. I'm so glad to know I'll never have to deliver another baby at Warren Memorial and I regret not going to Winchester. I hope another mother doesn't have to go through that. By the way, the nurses name was Meghan. I really hope she decides being a nurse isn't the job for her. Her bedside manner is terrible. I had a great birthing experience here as well as an ER visit in the past. No complaints.. (3 months ago)

I give this hospital 2 stars for the nurses. I took my 8 year old daughter here for stomach pain. The nurse said they will probably do xrays and a urine test. She was very polite and seemed very concerned. The doctorvon the other hand acted as though I was a over concerned parent and didn't listen to what I had to say. Needless to say he disregarded the nurses advice to do a urine test. He misdiagnosed my daughter. Took her to her regular doctor the next day who ordered a urine test and it came back she had a UTI. Not sure what the nurses name was but she at least knew what should have been done. Went to this hospital because Page Memorial is the one I have in my town but I wouldn't go there unless I had a death wish. Thought Warren Memorial would be a better alternative. Looks to me like the incompetence of doctors is something the Valley Healthcare system must all have in common when it comes to the ER doctors. Will go to Sentara in Harrisonburg for any future emergencies. (4 months ago)

If EVER you have your health worsened or jeopardized, DO NOT tell the medical provider (nurse or MD), but do contact the VA medical board to file a complaint. That's the only way they'll change their ways (hopefully). (6 months ago)
