My friend's daughter recently walked into her mom's hospital room to find her sitting naked waiting for the aide to return to dress her. She was seated for all to see as they walked by her room. And according to my nurse friend who worked there, there was a big problem with the aides. They never did their jobs, would literally hide and it left the nurses spread thin to have to do their jobs as well. I have a note on my 'file of life' DO NOT TAKE ME TO VENICE HOSPITAL. We're snow birds. My wife had 3 ER visits and 2 surgeries in Jan/Feb. Based on very negative news articles the last 2 yrs, I was concerned. So I checked a top Venice Nephrologist to see if I needed to get her out of there. They asked me which surgical team would be doing the work. When I told them, they said they're one of the best anywhere, and the hospital had done extensive remodeling/repair to correct past problems. We found these assurances to be true. The quality of care was excellent. We'd have no problem returning if necessary. (2 months ago)

I originally wrote a 5 star review for this hospital which I do believe I got treated for the condition but I am changing it now to a 1 star review because of fraudulent billing practices...I am working with my insurance company and have reported the fraudulent charges to them, this will be investigated. I offered to pay for the services minus a charge for some pill that I did not take but they insist I took it and I insist I did not. It wasn’t something I needed and strangely enough the order was cancelled and then added back on. Everyone make sure you request an itemized copy of your bill to check for fraudulent charges as I here from friends this is common practice with this hospital. (a week ago)

Over 4 hrs to get two stitches. 10 days later 3 hrs to get them out, after hooking me up with several electrodes an a IV in my arm , the Doctor came in,I told her all I want is the two very small stiches removed, she checked my paper work an found that they have two people with similar names an I was not the right person for whatever procedure they were doing.I called today to billing to make sure that I wasn't going to get charged with the other persons bill.Good luck if ya use them. I went to ER with a stomach ache, did not have to wait at all because it was 1 in the morning, I had Dr. Plugg who diagnosed me with appendicitis quickly and I went in for emergency surgery, have to say I have had a bad experience with this hospital in the past but this time it went great, I was admitted quickly, the staff on the surgical floor was very nice and very attentive! Altho I am still healing so but as of yet no signs of any infection so I would say they are getting much better there! As for them being slow, if they are busy it WILL be slow! (4 weeks ago)
