My son had a traumatic cataract surgery done here. This place is the absolute best!! The nurses and staff were absolutely amazing!! Kind, caring, all around GREAT!! The surgeon was wonderful, very friendly, professional and informative!! Never have we had this great of treatment!! His post op nurse even asked if we had a pillow, for our long ride home. Needless to say, she gave my son a pillow to make sure he had a comfortable ride home!! If I ever, which I hope I don't, need medical care, this will be my first choice💖 (a week ago)

They rush everything! I'm guessing to have a good turnaround. But very rushed! Parking is eight dollars daily. The hospital is a bit older. They separate it by different wings. The staff are friendly. (2 months ago)

I was there for nearly a week due on digestive issues (eventually being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease). The staff, for the most part, was very friendly and professional. Only few things keeping me from rating this higher is that A) the experience was a little anxiety provoking; B) one of the nurses was a little bit lax in regards to IV care..I ended up going back to the emergency department for superficial thrombophlebitis in my right arm; C) one night I was in the hospital, a couple techs accidentally blew a vein while attempting to draw blood; D) my mother stayed with me pretty much every night I was there and she said sleeping on the chair was a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, my experience was okay. (a week ago)

Waited OVER an hour to be seen. My appointment was at 2pm and I arrived at 1:45PM. A little after 3PM I finally got called back. The nurse was extremely rude and acted like I was bothering her for being there. It was literally a 5 minute exam to check for skin cancer. Then to make matters worse, they charged me $6 to park in their garage! UNREAL. I wish there was a ZERO ⭐ rating I could give this place. (4 months ago)

I really would like to thank Shadyside hospital esecially the ICU cardio surgery unit for taking care of my mom. Dr. Thomas Gleason is a blessing and he saved my moms life. I truly thank God for this man and his team. (3 months ago)
