As a full-time student and part-time worker, I recommend this University for any resident in Orange County or Los Angeles. The campus is great for commuting, as long as you avoid rush hour. It also is very peaceful which is optimal for a study environment. The professors in the School of Social Sciences are intelligent, passionate about their disciplines, and helpful. I am glad I cam where after community college. Zot! Zot! (a month ago)

It was the best of times. I completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching graduate program at this fine university. (4 weeks ago)

(Review based on experiences from about decade ago) Good, affordable education. Depending on your program, class sizes could get quite large and students may receive little support from professors. Professors have a lot of amazing research going on, so great for research opportunities. Students were overall quite friendly, good atmosphere, though somewhat lacking in diversity -- at the time I attended, middle/upper class Asian Americans were a large majority of the student population. Overall beautiful campus. Peaceful and safe place, though living in the city of Irvine can be quite expensive for a student. (7 months ago)

A magnificent campus. There is a park in the middle with massive fig trees, grapefruit trees, beautiful pink blooming trees, succulents and cucti. There also orange trees throughout the campus, and overall it is very green. There is a pub on campus (which rarely happens). The giftshop is huge and has an impressing assortment. There are many coffee shops throughout and a nice food court. They have amazing events, most of which are open to public. There are gorgeous statues and multiple art pieces. Many parking lots, but you have to pay--they give tickets for parking without a permit. Great place to be a student at (yay, anteaters!). And a great place to just come visit and take a walk!
