I am highly disappointed with the lack of compassion displayed after my hospital stay with my newborn preemie daughter. My daughter was born 5 weeks premature and was born via emergency C-section. She needed quite a bit of medical intervention as well as an extended hospital stay. My husband, who is a disabled veteran, graduated college the day before my daughter was born. She had no health insurance because of our peculiar situation, and we do not qualify for federal assistance. We racked up a very large hospital bill, not including all of the doctor bills. We applied for a hardship from the hospital and were approved for 50% of our bill to be forgiven. This still left us with a very large sum to pay. When we asked about payments, we were told we only have 24 months to pay this very large bill off. We have been more than willing to pay the bill, but we simply cannot afford to pay the large monthly amount required to pay it off in 24 months. We have asked if we could be given more time, but told consistently that they cannot do anything. Every other doctor has worked with us and even forgiven our entire bills, but this hospital seems to only care about getting their money and not about the position it will put the people in who have to pay it. We did not ask for this to happen to our family. My daughter's life saving medical treatment wasn't some luxury we splurged money on that we didn't have. It isn't something you can shop for the best price on. We were forced into this terrible situation then stuck with an outrageous bill for it. If we cannot pay it off in time they are threatening to send us to collections and we will take a big hit to our credit. I am shocked and highly disappointed by this hospital. I can only praise the staff for taking good care of us while we were there and Ms. Crystal with customer service who has been very helpful and sympathetic towards us. Not much else good to say otherwise. (3 weeks ago)

AT THIS HOSPITAL IT WAS OK .DONT GET ME WRONG THEY HAVE AN EXCELLENT SURGEON NAMED DR.FUDGE.THE NIGHT NURSES IN THE ICU ARE WONDERFUL ALWAYS IN THE ROOM OR RIGHT OUTSIDE AND EASY TO FIND,THEY ARE ON TOP OF EVERYTHING FROM MEDICINE AND CLEANLINESS .BUT...I WISH I COULD SAY THE SAME ABOUT THE DAY STAFF THEY WERE ALL HARD TO LOCATE INSTEAD OF BEING IN THE ROOM WITH THE PATIENT THEY WERE HAVING A SOCIAL HOUR IN THE HALLWAY COMPLETELY AWAY FROM MOST ROOMS.THEY LEAVE BLOOD STAINS ON THE SHEETS WHEN YOU SHOULD BE TRYING AT ALL COSTS TO HELP PATIENTS AVOID INFECTIONS AND YOU'RE ALLOWING IT TO BUILD UP BY HAVING BLOOD RIGHT THERE NEXT TO THE PATIENT.THEY ALSO GET MAD OR ANNOYED WHEN TOLD TO DO THERE JOB I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WANT TO BE A NURSE IF THEY CAN'T DO THEIR JOB CORRECTLY. I'm totally unsatisfied with the service here. My wife is in here now, and it's next to Impossible to get the day shift off their dead asses. It's not the nursing staff, but the aids in red. My wife needs help getting out of bed to go to the bathroom and back. They have a fall Hazzard sign outside the door, and they know she needs help. I've had to help her out, then they want to come fuss me for helping. Night shift works like a dream and are very attentive. You better fix these problems or lose customers. We come here because this is the best hospital around. But this visit has been a nightmare. It's just one or two people I'm angry. My wifes name is Catherine Guidry, and she's in room 280 right now. Take care of this. (2 weeks ago)

They are the slowest bunch of workers and they just do not care how you are feeling unless your bleeding a all over the floor (a week ago)

I was transported via Acadia Ambulance Service on October 15, 2017. I am a nurse and knew my condition was grave. I had 4 bleeding ulcers and complete blockage of Aorta and femoral arteries. The ER team was excellent. Dr. Lecsky listened to every word I said. I gave him the names of all my doctors and told him to call all of them, lol, and he did. I had the ulcers cauterized and underwent Aorta Bifemoral bypass. I am thankful to be alive and am thrilled to report that the doctor did not pass off my diarrhea as a "Chief Complaint " as a virus and sent me home. The entire staff from ICU to Step down were so caring and my treatment couldn't have been better (5 months ago)
