Location and Directions

Have had a family member in CCU and the staff are amazing. Love the large rooms. Care has been exceptional. All the hospital staff have been great from desk to cafe the Critical Care Unit. Lots of public spaces and private meeting spaces to help with extended stay. Appreciate being able to park so close to entrance. Overall as great an experience as I could expect under very difficult circumstances. (2 months ago)

The skill of the staff was amazing. The nurse got my I.v. started on the very first try. Everybody was friendly and answered all of my questions. The doctor truly seemed to care about me and by that I mean that he took the time to talk to me and didn't rush off. The service was great and they made sure that I was comfortable. (2 weeks ago)

Turn around as quick as you can! Sadly my mother was brought to this Hospital Emergency Room and passed away with what we were told "Septic Shock" - From the time she was brought in, diagnosed, and taken care of our heads were spinning. No one had a clue of what they were doing. Our mom was put through so much when we asked what was going on we were told multiple different stories. We truly don't even know what she passed away from. So unprofessional, a life has been lost but to them it was "rush, rush" onto the next person. We are saddened. Transfer a loved one into Chicago/Elgin area. (a month ago)

My 30-yr old son was told that he needed a pacemaker by cardiologist at Swedes who was here temporarily from Pittsburgh. He son agrees to get one. A different cardiologist does the procedure. When we go for a follow-up appointment, we're told by a different cardiologist that he doesn't think my son needed a pacemaker! He wasn't familiar with my son's chart. He's supposed to review it and call me back. It took 3 weeks, I miss his call and I call back. The staff can't believe that he called me himself. It's been 3 business days and I'm still waiting for a return call!! We are getting a second opinion from Mercy Hospital. I can't say that I recommend this facility! I have other experiences too long to tell! (2 months ago)

Was at the Swedish American clinic and hospital for my cousin's pregnancy and childbirth. Good hospital with very helpful and approachable staff at obstetrician and gynaecology department. Doctor Brandis is very efficient, supportive and kind. The physician Doctor. Chivkula, Nurses Ellen, Holly and team from labour and delivery were very helpful and efficient. The mother and baby care is also good with very efficient and supportive staff like Nurses Liz and Missy. (in the last week)
