Location and Directions

I had to undergo a recent surgery that was performed at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. The surgery area of the hospital is brand new and extremely nice. The employees and surgical team were very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the procedure that was getting ready to be done on me. My surgery went very well and I was able to go home the same day. Another thing that I really appreciate is a day or two after I had my surgery one of the nurses called me to check on me to see how I was doing. Whenever anyone asks me what hospital I use I always tell them St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. (2 weeks ago)

My opinion of hospitals in general has never been very high. They come across, in general, as dealing more with the money than with the patients, who are really people. Having said this, I want to say that, for the most part, I have been happy with St. V (formally St John's) in Anderson. No, they haven't been perfect and when I am tired and sick or in pain, nothing seems very right. I doubt I am the only one like that. By far, my biggest complaint, however, is that when they schedule surgeries, they don't tell you the details until late in the afternoon of the day before surgery. I have friends asking and family needing to know and I have to tell them, sorry, don't know until about 18 hours before I have to go in. This looks bad and is difficult to manage. They do care about you and I know there are mistakes made and things happen - they are human, too. They try. There are mean doctors and nurses and there are some who are too wonderful to put into words. I have had both over the years. It upset me to read all the bad things being said about a hospital which is staffed by people. If you are not getting the care you know or even think you need, then ask, then ask again, the let them know that you will be speaking to someone about the concern and the problem. No need to yell and scream; that just makes them label you as trouble and ignore you. Sorry, off on a rant, but they are a hospital and they do care...the people are not "3rd class" citizens. This is an ok hospital. If you are dying or injured and close you can go here for help. No doubt. Better have insurance though. (2 months ago)

The operator was extremely rude. I accidentally dialed the incorrect number to the hospital to check the status of my mother at a different facility. I have not been to Anderson IN for many years but I can see some things never change, still third class citizens. (4 months ago)

Loved the place. People were courteous and there were even volunteers to guide patients through the vast well equipped facility. The doctor was very good and diagnosed the issue right away. Experts at what they do. recommend them! (a year ago)
