My first time going here, to their ER. The issues I had were very private and that is exactly how they kept it, very private, very confidential. I am very impressed with the treatment I received, very one-on-one with the P.A., and nurses. I felt very comfortable and reassured. I would recommend though to NOT complain, or get snappy. It just makes them seem not happy, and unhelpful. Understandably I would personally have been passive with rude patients too.. I noticed that my time went smooth and fast, when I was not pestering them or complaining about the service. It is a great hospital though and I recommend them highly! (a week ago)

I have been here twice to have stitches put in and taken out. Each time has been a wonderful experience! The very sweet black lady at the front counter (ER) provides the best Customer Service ever!!! She is patient, friendly, and most importantly, GREAT at her job! St. Mary’s is the only place I’ll give my business to from now on! Great job all around guys and gals! (2 months ago)

Had to go to the emergency room and St Mary's has got to be the best hospital I've ever encountered. Every member of the staff was so kind and nurturing. They got me in and out quickly. Very clean. Overall just a very pleasant experience. (2 months ago)

Saint Marys Estimated the procedure to cost $13700-$17,900. I was able to obtain from my insurance that Saint Marys was charging me for everything. The pillows on the bed,the scalpel, the kit used for the surgery, as if these items can’t be reused. For example the knife and camera to cut me with they were going to charge me $6000. Given that my share of the surgery is 10% they wanted $1370. After speaking with my insurance I discovered that the hospital has a $5000 cap for the procedure. This means that St. Mary inflates the price well above the contracted rate so they can bill me my maximum out of pocket cost of $1790 but then only bill the insurance $5000. Meaning the hospital gets $6790 instead of $5500. Anesthesia would’ve been an additional bill. A different company who competes with Saint Marys was a better deal. The Surgery Center of Athens is charging $1450 for the facilities. This means my out-of-pocket cost is $145. I also confirmed that number with my insurance. So surgery center of Athens is $1645 cheaper for me than Saint Marys. This type of billing scam should be illegal. (3 months ago)

Worst ER I've ever experienced. We took my 86 year old grandmother there after what we believed to be a stroke. Everyone from the nurses to the doctors and staff just seemed angry at everyone. At one point my grandmother needed to use the restroom. Not being able to walk by herself, a nurse came in to get her to the toilet. 3 hours latter, no one had returned. If we had not have been there to get her back to her bed, she would have been trapped in the bathroom for 3 HOURS! Not to mention that once we got her back to bed, she was left unhooked from her monitors for 3 hours until someone finally returned. Never go here if you can help it. (6 months ago)
