This has been an eventful hurry up and wait stay. It takes so long for tests to be done. I will say the weekend nursing staff was amazing. Crystal, Keisha, Junita! Very clean facility just disappointed it took so long to get MRI’s. The docs have been helpful as well! If they would get a little more organized with scheduling tests and results it would be great. My sister, recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, was having lab work done at MD Anderson, and became...or rather, continued to be violently ill. The lab techs at MDA suggested we go to St. Luke's ER, which was next door. All I asked was for a bed...it could've been in the hallway for all we cared, just so she could lie down which helps control nausea, but the numerous women working the ER desk refused. They said she had to wait in a chair in the waiting area until they could get to her, and they they would need to do triage before they could determine her urgency. We walked in behind a gentleman who drove himself to the ER, and admitted he was not in need of urgent care but could not wait several days for a doctor appointment. They even took him before my sister. As sick as she was, she asked me to take her to another ER...one I know offers compassionate patient care. Methodist Hospital's ER...which we cannot say enough good things about. We will risk driving further to receive competent care. (2 months ago)

I was here a few months ago and came in overnight for food poisoning. I was experiencing severe stomach pains. A little backstory, I have had a lap band surgery; It is essentially an adjustable gastric bypass to assist with weight loss. A minor side effect of this is that it is extremely difficult, of not impossible, to vomit. My stomach hurt and I really, really wanted to throw up, but I couldn't. So I made the mistake of coming to this hospital's overnight ER to undergo what should have been a simple fix: loosen lap band, let me vomit, and I'll be on my way. I would like to preface that the orderly and nurse were extremely helpful and polite. The Doctor not so much. Maybe it was my mistake of self diagnosing that threw off his God complex a little bit, but instead of listening to me (I was very upfront with my medical history, describing everything I've written here), he told me we needed to take special precautions due to my lap band a called for a range of tests. About 3 hours later after a long wait in radiology, I finally sit back down with him so that he could tell me that they are going to give me an anti-inflammatory and a pain prescription to fill. Attempting to confirm that this was food poisoning only resulted in him dodging my questions. During the examination, I might add, reception showed up and interrupted to hand me the bill and wouldn't leave until I coughed up payment. I have decent insurance, so that could have been a deciding factor in all the tests they called for, why else couldn't they give me a straight answer after 4 hours of unnecessary BS? All in all, I spent 400$ and most of my night, in pain the whole time, just to be treated like a combination of a human ATM and garbage. You should have SEEN the looks I got when I asked for some relief from the pain. I just wanted to vomit so I could get to sleep. Instead it stayed with me for three days of intestinal discomfort and I think the next time I require a hospital visit I'm just going to stay home and hope for a quick death. It'll be lighter on the wallet, and the experience will be far more enjoyable. (a month ago)

Went to the Er. Staff was very professional and friendly. Dr. explained what was going on with me and answered all of my questions. Very clean. Enjoyed the aquarium! (4 weeks ago)

My wife was transferred here after another facility nearly killed her. St Luke’s staff is the best. They were caring, loving, and very supportive of my wife’s needs. They are super and I would recommend this hospital to anyone. (a month ago)
