Go to a different ER. My friend was taken there by ambulance after fall at store where she broke her face open in two places and broke her wrist. She was put into a trauma room. No treatment for 4 hours. Then they finally did the 15 minute X-rays. Sat for 1.5 more hours and they finally stitched her face shut and put a splint on her arm. We were in that room for 6 hours for about 30 min combined treatment. I felt so bad for her laying in the bed with the cuts in her face waiting to be stitched for 5.5 hours. If we have a choice, we won’t be going to that ER ever again. (a month ago)

The family birthplace gives you a runaround. I was told on 3 separate occasions that I didn’t have to schedule a tour, I could just come in and be given one, only to make a drive out there and be told that I had to call and set one up. ( I wouldn’t be mad if I hadn’t called an hour prior and was told that I could just come anytime in the afternoon). They won’t give you registration paperwork without you taking the tour, and they only give tours on Saturdays. I was not told any of this information by the group of nurses that were just sitting there when I came in. They made it seem like I could come in the next day on a scheduled tour. Not happy with how they treat possible patients. (a week ago)

The doctors, nurses, and staff were all great at the Family Birthplace! I gave birth to my son there last week and thanks to their attentiveness in monitoring us, I have a healthy baby boy born via unplanned C-section due to fetal distress. Once my son was born, everyone also took great care of him in the nursery since he needed just a couple days of extra support being born a few weeks early. I plan on going to the same hospital for any future baby. (a month ago)

I wish I could give negative stars. If you are having a baby, stay away from this hospital. When your in labor you don't want to sit in your room that's over 80° and the a.c. not working, just to have the staff bring you fans and don't bother switching you rooms. That was just the start of the hell I went through giving birth to my child and dealing with the incompetent staff that are made up of nurses and doctors there. 6 months later and I still have flashbacks at the horror they put my daughter and I through. I wish I read reviews before deciding to come here to have a child. After doing extensive research, Mercy is the place to go. Please stay away from here and drive further for better care! My experience at Saint Joseph West in Lake Saint Louis MO was very unpleasant. I went in on 4/29/2018 to get my in grown hair taken care of and the doctor just rushed everything, didn’t take his time and was done in 10 minutes and my in grown hair got worse over the next three days. I had went to a different hospital 5/02/2018 and they did what was suppose to be done the first time when I went to Saint Joseph West. (2 weeks ago)
