Worse hospital I have ever been in never have I had to pay for my emergency room before I got seen by the doctor wasn't like I didn't have ins. I think blue cross blue shield was proof I had ins. Then before it was all done it ended up costing me 800 out of pocket for this reduclicious joke of a hospital visit.. He tells me my leg will be fine in 4 days 4 years later I'm still having problems with it great going doc. I would recommend going somewhere else. (a month ago)

This hospital is the worse I've ever been in. Slow staff there either no doctors on staff or a bunch of nurse nurses or knowing what they are doing. One of the best things I have notice in the er room there a picture frame saying blood test 1 hour urine test 1 hr x ray one hour. Got here at 3pm blood and urine taking at 4pm it is now 8pm and where have not heard anything. (a month ago)

Shands is a terrible hospital PERIOD. They don't care about their patients. My mom got sent there due to her doctor finding an infection in her stomach. Said they was going to admit her until Monday. She has been there since Friday afternoon. They did a scan the same day and did not give her results for 24 hours. All they can say is her intestines is twisted, could be crohns and talk to her tomorrow. The doctor rushed out the room trying to get his rounds done. She has been waiting on the specialist that is supposed to be so great but still no show. Cant believe they treat patients that way. But suppose to be the best hospital....😡😡 (3 months ago)

The staff here is better than Lake City Medical Center. Shands doctors and nurses listened to my complaints and actually found a problem. Something LCMC wasn't able to do because all they cares about was me not having insurance. I have to have my gallbladder removed and have been jn pain for 5 months and Shanda found it within an hour and knew exactly what to do. I don't know when the rest of you go but my time there was very enjoyable, given the circumstances. (2 months ago)

Sometimes the ER wait was long, but before I moved out of state I had two children both delivered at this hospital and I was overwhelmed at the level of care I received from the doctors and nurses during my stay. With my first baby, I had an emergency cesarean and my son was 5 weeks premature. He was very well taken care of in the nursery and the nurses were sure to feed him the milk I had pumped and he came home five days later just as strong and healthy as could be. (4 months ago)
