Absolutely horrible experience! The nurses are completely subpar. Expected that the doctor’s have no bedside manner, but shocking that the nurses don’t. My relative called for pain relief (and this person is one tough cookie), with a “I’ll be there in a minute” response from the nurse...30 minutes later my relative calls again and a snotty nurse (a different one from the one seeing my relative) comes walking in saying “She’ll be here shortly” in a manner that screamed: Stop bothering me. Listen lady, we beeped *twice* in half an hour when the pain is an 8/10! It’s been yet another 30 minutes and still absolutely no nurse to administer pain relief after an hour for a person who has just had surgery, then have the surgery screwed up by the surgeon (here at Sentara) and had to come back in with an infection, and is now scheduled for yet another surgery. Absolutely insane. I will never be back to this hospital. Update: When the nurse (Lindsey) finally came in she said “Well there are five of you and one of me.” Yeah... If you can’t manage your job, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it- especially with people’s health on the line. Imagine if a teacher said that... or police officer... or industrial supervisor... (I’ve not included the gender or procedure for my relative as I wholly believe the nurses will give this person worse service due to this post, but I needed to warn people about this “Top 50” hospital). Best hospital ever! Despite having to go to the ER, I've always had a pleasant visit. The staff is always super professional and courteous! (2 months ago)

The ortho unit at this hospital is amazing. Highly trained staff, very friendly. They have instituted best practices from top ortho units around the country. I would ask my doctor if he would be willing to use this hospital. Some of the top doctors in Hampton roads are switching to Sentara Williamsburg Medical Center because of the higher quality of both the physician and patient experience. I would encourage anyone considering an orthopedic procedure to read reviews and make an informed decision. (2 months ago)

This hospital is horrible. You’ll sit there for ATLEAST 4 hours for 45 mins worth of work. Dr. Links is very i nprofessional, Call for a Nurse they say “I’ll tell the nurse” no one ever comes. call again they don’t answer. Won’t tell you anything about thats going on with you while you sit there for hours wondering if you’re dying and then they get mad because you’re frustrated. Only to tell me I need to see my OB. I wouldn’t come back here if it was the only hospital left. (3 weeks ago)

We were welcomed with care and the Doctor Beutow was amazing with my 6 year old Son who has a disability. All the nurses and staff were also amazing. Traveling sucks but going to a hospital and being taken care of makes traveling allot easier. Thank you and God bless you all. (4 months ago)
