I have never felt so disappointed in a hospital before. My 82 year old father was taken to the emergency room Monday with chest pains. They checked his vitals and admitted him and instructed the nurses that he couldn’t eat after midnight so they could run tests the following day on Tuesday. That night the nurse forgot to mention in her notes my dad was a diabetic. Tuesday at noon I asked the nurse what his blood sugar had been since he had not eaten or taken any of his meds. She stared blankly at me and asked if he was a diabetic. It was unreal! He was ignored all day Tuesday and not one test had been performed. They also gave him a high sugar/fatty meal that night because they forgot to let nutrition know he was a diabetic that needed to also be on a heart healthy diet (this actually happened twice)Fast forward to today (Wednesday) and they finally perform the tests. It’s now 8 o’clock at night and my parents are just now getting home. Guess what they found out was wrong with him? They have no idea! Not one Dr. came in to give results! My parents have no clue why my dad is having chest pains with shooting pains that travel from his neck down his left arm. The nurse told them to call the Dr tomorrow to set up an appointment next week to find out what is wrong. She did mention there was a concern but she couldn’t say. How is it that you go to the hospital and find out absolutely nothing when in fact there is something wrong! My dad is 82 years old and an after thought to them. They ignored him, endangered his health, and gave no conclusion to what is going on with him. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL AS YOU CAN! GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE! (in the last week)

Its so sad to see that quite a few of the reviews here are negative. However my experience was quite the opposite. This was my first time visiting St Petersburg Fl. I was having chest pain and had to go to the ER at St Anthony's. My experience here was excellent, the staff was great. Thank you so much to the doctors and nurses who were involved with my care. However a special thanks to Izzy my ER nurse, Woody and Erin my nurses in Flex1 and Brett the technician. I hope I remembered your names correctly. You all put the care in caring and I appreciate it very much. If I had one negative thing to say, it would be about the food, which I think has lots of room for improvement. That is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars. (2 months ago)

If you are planning to have a sleep study be warned. This is a horrific experience. The sleep disorder clinic is impossible to find, in a dark isolated basement smelling distinctly of mold, not too clean, with no shower, wash cloth or body/face soap available. You are filmed and recorded. Your face, neck, hair and scalp will be covered with sticky, itching, burning glue that you will not be able to easily remove. It will be very difficult to fall asleep under these circumstances. If you are able to sleep using sleep aids this study in no way replicates how you will sleep at home so I question whether it is valid for anyone. At a minimum you will feel abused and assaulted and when you leave....exhausted. I do not recommend. (4 months ago)

E.R. Dr was very very rude. On serious pain rash allover. She says im fine. Acted as if I were an inconvenience. Went to Northside and was admitted because I need my gall bladder removed. Can u say I'm calling my lawyer..... (in the last week)

It’s going on 7 hours now....still in the ER. Diagnosed 5 hours ago and told mom would get antibiotics. Just had to have an intervention with the doctor and had to demand he give her the antibiotics. He said they were ordered but couldn’t be admistered until midnight. We asked for some soup and crackers. That took almost two hours and didn’t happen until I demanded it. Still no room and all anyone says is that it’s not their responsibility. It’s this other department. Not them. Don’t blame them. Blame this other department...we were told 4 hours ago we had a bed....we were told an hour ago we had a bed...we are still here...waiting waiting and waiting Now I just had to stop the lab guy from taking blood. He said. I’m here to take blood. When I asked why. He said oh no. No blood and walked out. What the heck is happening in this place. The review will continue as we navigate this crazy place. Someone please help us Update 4/4. 1p. Ok. I’ve got to say the ER team stepped up their game in a hurry. Finally got in to a room at 1030 with the help of Linda Nurse Administrator. She really took an interest in the situation and tried to explain what was happening. Much appreciated! And Today we met April from the ER. She was wonderful..took her time. Apologized and really took the feedback seriously. So I have to say that they addressed my concerns immediately and to full resolution! Now on the floor and the care is perfect. Norbert and Jessie have taken wonderful care of mom ....and all together I’ve got a different opinion of this hospital than I did 24 hours ago Thanks for being so responsive! Ste (a month ago)
