I had a hip replacement last week. The care I received at River's Edge was beyond excellent. The staff was very thorough, dedicated and caring. The nursing staff was fantastic!! I highly recommend this hospital. (8 months ago)

Incompetent to say the least. First The whole system seem to be down and offline, the receptionist was very unwelcoming, cold and rude. She didn't even know how to print the patient name lables and was bitching at whoever on the phone about her computer as I almost fainted in front of her. I had to quickly go sit down regardless she wasnt even close to figuring out how to check me in as im in tears of agony, she isn't phased one bit. Finally get into triage area which was wildly unprivate and no place for me to sit while my daughter gets her blood pressure taken (she was also sick and being seen) again I'm dizzy about to faint and puke. But sure make me try to stand in full excruciating pain. They also had no place for me to hang my stuff as they ask me to take my coat and hoodie off to take my blood pressure, sorry but even if im sick i rather not have to throw all my stuff on the floor, gross. The nurse doesn't ask questions yet somehow he already assumed what was wrong and decided to state what test he would give me without knowing why I'm even there. Weird. Once he leaves a np walks in again doesnt allow me a moment to speak looks down my throat and walks out saying that test the nurse gave me will be ready whenever. Then as im clearly dehydrated, pale and faint she hands me REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER! wow I clearly need to be hydrated not have any remaining minerals or the electrolytes stripped from my body!!! Just unbelievable then comes back to say i don't have whatever test they gave me , yeah no duh sherlock thats not why i was there and if anyone would have let me speak before walking away every damn time maybe you would know that!!!! As my daughter is also clearly miserable and sick they had no conclusion at all for her and suggested she go back to school. Ummmmm anyone with eyes and ears could tell that would be a horrible idea for the school. Wow just wow. Incredibly incompetent!!!! THEN they suggest they have no idea what's wrong with me and suggest i transfer to actual hospital and be admitted. Ugh great thanks for wasting my time and little to no energy i have. The hospital and staff are excellent people. They have helped me in more ways than I count. (5 months ago)

Like many hospitals, River's Edge is an absolute racket. Billing is designed for those with extensive coverage. I visited the emergency room for an hour and ended up with a $1400 bill. They do have a generous financial assistance program, but it's not easy to get into. Will leave you angry and feeling exploited (4 years ago)

I have had ankle surgery here 2 times and I have received excellent care. Both times I came into this er I was cared for efficiently and each caregiver took time to make me comfortable before sending me home (1st time), or transferring me to a different facility for surgery (2nd time) (2 years ago)
