Wonderful experience in the ER yesterday morning. The nursing staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable. The physician was prompt and had treatment rolling quickly. Very efficient and caring. First time visiting and would recommend the ER to anyone in need. Happy to have this wonderful ER and staff in our community. (a week ago)

When I lived in Virginia I was treated so unethically that this hospital because most of the people don’t know any better. This is all they have! It’s worse at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester Virginia but by far please warn your family and friends to make the drive to Richmond Virginia or Newport News Virginia. Do NOT go in this hospital for anything. I have lupus. I had a flareup that was causing kidney problems and if I would’ve listened to the doctors (one doctor I was allowed to see) in this hospital I can’t imagine the horrible outcome as they refused dialysis. They refused the necessary testing to include basic blood work. I would of had kidney failure if I excepted the diagnosis and discharge that I was given in December of 2012 when I visited this hospital during a lupus flare up. They said my insurance had lapsed and I didn’t have coverage. That was incorrect! I came with a folder of medical history and showed the information. I also had proof I really did have current medical insurance that it was a glitch or something and would be corrected on Monday morning as when I came in it was Sunday evening! (3 weeks ago)

This hospital is absolutely filthy. It reminds me of an old nursing home. I was dropping a patient off in for psychiatric eval. While they were being registered one of the RNs meandered into the registration area and was asking the lady to look up her social to see if anyone had used it. Just very casually. She had very bad teeth and holes in her shoes, very unprofessional appearance. Continuing on throughout the hospital, there was clutter everywhere in the hallways which is against Joint Commission Standards. As we entered the Psych facility there was a general medical patients room directly outside the psychiatric unit. As we entered there was no holding area, it was straight into the unit. Patient had full access to belongings at all times. Security was very lax for a psychiatric facility. This hospital needs a major renovation. If they are going to be an inpatient psych facility they need to improve their demeanor and security. I felt terrible having to turn over the patient to this facility. I do not feel they will be able to help, as they seemed to have an uncaring attitude. I am SHOCKED that this is a Bon Secours facility, they should really take a hard look at this place and make some real changes. This is a community that could use a proper health care facility. Worst hospital every. $588 for a visit to tell me I have to see a specialist. Never go there unless your dieing and if you can make it to Richmond, do it! (2 months ago)

Took my husband here and the doctor was rude and very unprofessional. Took my sister here and had a great experience. Doctor was thorough, friendly, and competent. So it all depends on who is working that night. Maybe hospital needs to check out their personnel to find the best doctors in order to provide best service. (9 months ago)
