Had my first surgery ever at 71 years old I was a little nervous but the staff treated me with care and respect very professional just their attitude made me feel every thing would be fine the operation went as they said it would and in the time they said I could not have been treated any better at any other Hospital it has been a week since my surgery and there are no problems with my recovery I am so glad I picked Oswego Hospital for my surgery,Thank You Oswego Hospital. I usually have good care there. I have many health issues, and I forever am in there it seems. The staff treats me well all the time. This week I had the worst experience of my life. I felt like I had the flu, I tried to care for it at home. I ended up having a seizure, hitting the floor (uncarpeted). I fell on my right side. I had a massive migraine and pain in my hips, and back. The doctor was like oh a migraine. I have a plan of care in the computer since I am there a lot for my Complex Cluster Migraines. I have had it for years now. This doctor refused to listen. He gave me what he wanted to and sent me home cause he can't do anything. Mind you I have the flu or so it seems. I can't hold medication in. I went back later and had a lot wrong. Lets start with administering me medication I had an allergic reaction to when taken before and it was in my chart?? I almost died May 23 into the 24 as I was all swollen and couldn't figure out why. My doctors I was told to contact told me to go back to the ER. I got kick ass service after the doctor who tried to right the wrong the best he could. I have many options here and just am disgusted with doctors who think they are god. Guess he didn't read the bible (my allergy chart)!! Just because you have been there the longest and treated lord knows what doesn't mean you play god with my life or any other persons life. ~Diana~ (a year ago)

I had an ultrasound done here and they told me nothing was wrong, a week later I went to another hospital for another doctor and they showed me everything in an ultrasound that Oswego "missed" and now I am set for surgery at the other hospital. I am so thankful I went for a second opinion. If i'm not bleeding out I will make the drive to Syracuse if I need to get ANYTHING done! (9 months ago)

Horrible, lied to by everyone there on everything. I'm gonna get a 2nd opinion on my gall bladder needing surgery. The ER doctor seemed to know or care less about the issue than I did. These people are cheap ass bastards they promise you a meal after going through a battery of fasting tests. I had to refuse to sign out to get a cheap $1 tv dinner, and they claimed they didn't even have a piece of bread. Claiming to be a poor hospital with limited resources. Never again will I step into Oswego hospital for as long as I live. Next time and for now on it's only gonna be St Joe's in Syracuse where they don't starve you, and where they care about you as a patient not a # or wrist band ID. Oswego hospital is poison, stay clear at all costs. Don't believe me see yourself and see why I'd rate them a -1 if I could!! (11 months ago)

My Mother's had 2 trips here within the month. The first vist was EXTREMELY LONG (not to do to the OH)- 9+ hrs. Everone from the ambulance to the nurse's did a nice job of taking care of her until they transferred her to Crouse Hospital. Now the 2nd time...the wait in the ER again was EXTREMELY LONG (8+ hrs. to be admitted to an ICU Room) wait. The ER staff was very kind until she was admitted (Especially the Respiratory team who intubated her- they were exceptional!) The ICU help again was very kind & caring during her overnight stay. I, unfortunately, was not thrilled with the ICU DR we had in the morning. She seemed to contridict herself a lot and I was told a test was to be ordered-up and then we would decide if maybe it was best to send her to Crouse Hospital ICU again...less than 5 mins later, without tests or warning, I was told she was being trasfered. Period. This is just my opinion, but I was not very happy the way this Dr handled our case- we had a plan that we had been following thru 3+ Dr's (&f know plans change all the time, esp in medicine) and "poof"...your leaving within the next hr now-tell the rest of your immediate family at 6:30am! Thank you for reading this long text. The take away from me: most of the support staff are very nice and caring! I guess I'll leave at that & let you come to your own conclusions. (11 months ago)
