I have been hospitalized in this facility several times over the years. I have 2 homes. One in northeast La. & one in Eunice La. i can go to any hospital i want for treatment. However... Opolousas General Hospital is unmatched in excellence. In professionalism, bedside manner, cleanliness,.... whatever category you choose. Opolousas General is unsurpassed. (2 months ago)

I was told to pee in a cup and I couldn’t go at first so i asked for some water . I drank and drank and drank but couldn’t pee. The lady was very demanding that I per in the cup or else they will put a catheter in me and extract it. Like what?!?! Y’all should be trained professionals , you should know how long it takes for water to hit the bladder.....I was in my period too and denied any kind of pads or bathroom privileges. They would not even turn off my lights so I could sleep.... I had a suitcase full of clothes brought in and was denied a change of underwear. I sat in my own period blood...for hours...until transfered (4 months ago)

They were almost exactly on appointment time. The nurse and Dr were friendly and concerned that I was comfortable and they were not rushed. Nice experience. The procedure not too uncomfortable (9 months ago)

this hospital should be shut down for the care also they overdosed my grandmother with Lasix after she got admitted for congestive heart failure and COPD and after they overdosed her with the Lasix she ended up in kidney failure and the cardiologist just lied to her. Are you f***ing kidding me, those SOBs nearly killed my grandmother. I hope Dr Kris Lindsay keeps his stupid selfish ass in Baton Rouge. (7 months ago)

I wasn't a recent patient here (thank God!) but I went there because my kids' dad and my cousin collided with each other in a football game and had to receive stitches. My cousin's injury was on his chin which had dried blood on it when we arrived and he left there with the same dried blood and stitches that were placed over beard hair---hmmmm red flag for possible infection BECAUSE THE SITE WASNT CLEANED!! My kids' dad stayed in a cold room in the back with wet clothes on from the game earlier. Well he started shaking from the combination of the cold air and wet clothes and WAS NEVER GIVEN A SHEET NOR A BLANKET!!! I live a about a mile from this hospital but will definitely drive to lafayette if I need to visit the ER. I've had a very pleasant visit to a hospital ER out there recently. This poor excuse for a hospital should not even be open for business. My vet treats my dog better than these people treat their patients. NOTE TO ER STAFF AT OGH: if you or your family ever has to visit any hospital, may their staff be as shitty to you with their attitude and sanitary practices as you are to your patients.
