The nurses and entire staff were great. Overall I was very impressed with everyone from the beginning. . There were a couple off should things that have not happened, I hate to say them but must say in honesty why they did not get a five star rating. It was issues with the room. My bed Was uncomfortable to the miserable point. One of staff mentioned it was an old room and I told them a batter bed had to be in hospital. Word got to doctor and I should have complained to him first. Did not think about it. Someone came to take car of it after I talked with doctor. The problem was so simple to take care of. Turn air pump on the bed on!!!!!! After couple of day I was able to shower. After I got in shower the head was off. Never had that problem before. When I got out I immediately complained said something Was done about it. Other than that hospital was great. If you have a problem complain about jet. They will take care of problem!!!! I lived in California where the hospitals was great.. Move to Texas where the hospitals are ok. My mom is in North Oaks and I have seen the rudest staff I have ever meet. If you ask a question the staff just don't like that and don't expect an answer. Will be so glad when my mom is moved. Being born and raised in New Orleans I should understand but I guess I've been gone way too long. I thought in the business of being a nurse you should care, have compassion, have patience, and have understanding. I have seen nothing like that on the 5th floor of North Oaks hospital. A 1 star is way too much. Much needed training on this floor. I hope this gets to a person that cares about people feeling... (a month ago)

They nearly killed me. They missed 2 life threatening injuries after a major car accident and a fractured clavicle due to no one reading the scans. I was sent home, only to pass out at home the next day and be transported unconsciously via ambulance to another hospital. Extremely negligent and poor care. There are several other choices of hospitals in the area. This one needs to be shut down, or at the least it’s trauma level stripped. (a month ago)

HORRIBLE HOSPITAL. If you can, go somewhere else. The first bad experience I had at north oaks was a missed spinal tap, went in my spine with 4 different needles because they missed twice and misdiagnosis. Last night, another misdiagnosis, along with the nurse practitioner lying, charging insurance for an X-ray and EKG when neither were performed, you will wait for hours to get nowhere or to be told they will refer you to someone who isn’t even available anymore or get prescribed meds for something you don’t have. Brought my 3 year old in with a possible head injury and waited almost 3 hours before getting called back. Didn't get CT scan for another hour and a half. Didn't get results for another hour. The staff was nice enough but with exception of one or two they all walked they had lead shoes. Not the kind of speed and urgency you want to see in an ER setting. Saw a lot of "visiting" amongst staff while waiting. No coffee in waiting area to keep you alert at night. I was not the only one there who waited a ridiculously long time either. (a year ago)
