My husband was brought here after an ATV accident. We have been treated promptly and professionally by EVERYONE. Very nice place. SICU was amazing, we had Amanda and Jackie. We are from out of town and once they knew he needed to be admitted they made sure he would be in a room that I could stay with him even after moving from SICU. I work in a hospital and I have to say this place is super nice. UPDATE: There was one problem the day we left. There was an X-ray tech that after my husband told the guy I would help him, he pulled my husband up by the shoulder, pulled out the board from behind him and dropped him back on the bed. My husband has 8 broken ribs, broken clavicle and scapula. Needless to say he needed more pain meds after that. The nurse was reporting it because my husband was the second person he hurt that morning. Other than that, no complaints. (3 weeks ago)

The nurses and entire staff were great. Overall I was very impressed with everyone from the beginning. . There were a couple off should things that have not happened, I hate to say them but must say in honesty why they did not get a five star rating. It was issues with the room. My bed Was uncomfortable to the miserable point. One of staff mentioned it was an old room and I told them a batter bed had to be in hospital. Word got to doctor and I should have complained to him first. Did not think about it. Someone came to take car of it after I talked with doctor. The problem was so simple to take care of. Turn air pump on the bed on!!!!!! After couple of day I was able to shower. After I got in shower the head was off. Never had that problem before. When I got out I immediately complained said something Was done about it. Other than that hospital was great. If you have a problem complain about jet. They will take care of problem!!!! North Oaks does not want their patients to get well, It is all about peoples insurance payments...worked there for a number of years, and never once got a proper diagnosis whenever I got sick.. Hospital quality is determined by patient return rates and North Oaks has a very high rate. My husband and I have had too many bad experiences at this hospital and I refuse to go there for ANY reason. In fact, I would not trust any of the staff at this hospital to treat my family pet. Save your time and money and make the drive to New Orleans or Baton Rouge for health care...In the long run, you will be better off. At least you will be alive! (a month ago)

Hospital is very slow! Very lazy nurses and while ER is empty you will wait approximately 4 hours. Do not come here at all please!! Take the ride to BR or NOLA for your health! (2 weeks ago)

I lived in California where the hospitals was great.. Move to Texas where the hospitals are ok. My mom is in North Oaks and I have seen the rudest staff I have ever meet. If you ask a question the staff just don't like that and don't expect an answer. Will be so glad when my mom is moved. Being born and raised in New Orleans I should understand but I guess I've been gone way too long. I thought in the business of being a nurse you should care, have compassion, have patience, and have understanding. I have seen nothing like that on the 5th floor of North Oaks hospital. A 1 star is way too much. Much needed training on this floor. I hope this gets to a person that cares about people feeling... (3 months ago)
