Excellent experience here. My daughter developed a severe reaction to an improperly dosed medication. She had all the symptoms of a severe reaction, and the med was clearly indicated. We went to Waterbury Hospital the previous evening and it was abysmal. They ignored every symptom, and she worsened while she was sitting in a hall for 5 hours, and they blew off the new symptoms, and discharged her with an antihistamine. Fast forward 7 hours, she worsened significantly, and a friend recommended Mid State. They got her inside in seconds... We walked in, and two nurses whisked her away before we got a few steps in the door. They carefully listened, did not dismiss her symptoms, the med she was on, and ensured she would get the proper treatment, which was to transfer her to the Connecticut Burn Center (the reaction was so bad, it necessitates treatment in a burn center). We are grateful and thankful to the doctors and nurses there and my only regret is that I didn't go to this ER first. (2 weeks ago)

This is how I see it from my experiences. Excellent care! Knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate staff. Current with the latest in medicine. Outstanding doctors and medical team! I appreciate the events, such as fundraisers for excellent causes, such as cancer research, and I appreciate the gift shop. The food is good. I especially liked the chicken and rice. This facility has a Dunkin Donuts in it. It's clean, quiet. The parking lots provide a free space to park your car. The rooms are very nice. When sick that requires a hospital visit, I appreciate Mid State! (2 months ago)

Worst hospital ever!! They did testing on me and said that was everything fine but it wasn't. I found out about my condition a year later when another doctor from there told me that they found my condition when they performed the first MRI and CT scan last year. Long periods of waiting. Staff don't know what they are doing, they give you attitude if you aks questions to them. Never again !!! (3 months ago)

Do NOT go to Midstate for emergency care. Their ER is a joke, most of the nurses are rude and doctors do not care at all. Definitely not a place for children to be seen, my son broke his arm and we waited 3 hours in the middle of the night just to get in a room, then another 2 hours for a doctor to see him. Drive to Yale or Hartford . It's worth it. (a month ago)

Sat in the emergency department for 2hrs before being seen say and waiting another hour just for discharge papers. RIDICULOUS!!!! MIDSTATE HAS TO DO BETTER (a month ago)
