I was passing through Missouri and stayed at hotel in Joplin, my 3 yr old woke up at about 2am and couldn't breath. We rushed him to Mercy and of course they took him right in. Our nurse was Absolutely wonderful, he really provided probably the Best Experience I've ever had at an ER. He was Great with my son, when the Doctor (who was Great also) would talk to me and my son would try to talk to me at the same time, our nurse would distract my son by talking to him. I can't Thank any of the Staff enough. Best Experience ever they made my baby feel better and me too with their care and understanding. I appreciate more than I could ever express! (a month ago)

My neighbor went to the ER and wastold he was fine. sent home with a collapsed lung. (He's like 70+ yrs old. Has 2 kinds of insurance.) My niece went to the ER after a traffic accident told her she was fine. She had a broken wrist. (she's 18 no insurance.) Now my husband goes to the ER and was told, not broken. Well it is a broken humerus which can be seen on an x-ray. He needs surgery. (He is 55yrs old has 2 kinds of insurance ) So what the heck? it's not age, or the ability to pay, or even having military medical coverage. DOES MERCY HAVE NO MERCY? or do they just not care about the people in their community? (4 weeks ago)

I'm writing as a vendor that provides a service to the hospital. It's a long drawn out process to get paid , along with the way I've been treated by employees that I've had to deal with(Tonya lake). Don't respond to emails or voice mails. I'm sure if the situation was reversed they'd happily wait forever until I paid them. (a week ago)

The nurses here for the most part are pretty good. We had some that took forever to get the call light answered and in the case of my family member that was there, it wasn't a good thing. When she has to go to the bathroom it is right now so waiting like they did caused her to have accidents. Very few of the doctors have a caring bedside manner and some are downright rude. They want you to think they are a good Christian hospital but the truth of the matter is all they care about is how much money they can get out of you. Sent my family member home twice before she was well due to fear of not getting paid and both times she was right back in the hospital within a few days of being released. Causing her to have to pay 1700.00 dollar co-pays more than she should have and also more pain and suffering than she should have had to endure. In my opinion they should change the name of the hospital from Mercy Hospital to Money Grubbing Bank. Perhaps they can actually read their Bible especially 1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." From now on if I have my way she will go to Freeman hospital at least my experiences with them have been less about money and more about taking care of you. (a month ago)

Worst experience ever. Waited for 3 hours to get back, then waited another hour for them to come in. They drew blood from my 2 MONTHS old 7 times because they're system wouldn't read it and they let it sit too long so it clotted. Then they said they were running potassium test, we waited 5 hours to find out the lab never tested it, so yet again, more blood. They poked him in both feet, both hands, and both arms. NEVER AGAIN. Freeman will be my first choice from now on (3 months ago)
