A hell-hole you should only go to if you want to be treated like garbage or die. 2008- My grandfather was dying of cancer and was told he had the FLU. He got a proper diagnosis after getting a second opinion at Wake Forest. Not that it mattered, because he died not long after. 2012- I was treated terribly and called nasty names. Talked down to as if every nurse I encountered thought I was a moron. Told I was stupid. Given attitude when I gave none back, because I was distressed. Then after waiting for HOURS, forced to take irrelevant tests I didn't need nor consent to. Not a lot of people in the ER that night, but plenty of staff slacking off and taking their time talking instead of working. Was given my "diagnosis" by being dragged into triage, where the lights were off. Nurse did not turn the light on... sketchy. She pulled me in there to tell me the diagnosis and sent me on my way. Went to a proper doctor SEVERAL times since this to be cleared, and have done nothing to treat the problem they told me I had. I was given a false diagnosis. Somehow I'm finally getting calls from debt collectors. I just really don't see why I should pay it considering my experience. Unfortunately for me, too much time has passed for me to step up and take the action I should have back then. (2 months ago)

The ICU staff had a few good nurses.but some on night shift try and totally ignore you and some nurses come in and hang drips without communication even the ER dr.has to intubate so the ERnurse comes in pushing meds.no communication.being a traveler i trusted a collegue for advise. Dennis on nights instructed me to let my FFP hang wide open.no pump needed.i trusted him.i asked for a pump.he said"i let it run wide open,no pump"so i did and some nurse,Dennis of 25 years set me up for failure. He hung neo and didn't tell me.no intensivists.dr.s that are NOT ICU.THEY GUESS.most of the nurses just write their own orders. No backup.I have never been fired in my life.I was not even talked to.i had no chance to present the truth.now karma knows your address. God will take care of this.ALL THE NURSES SAY NOT TO EVER BRING THEM THERE IF SICK.speaks for itself.was never late.never called in.helped everyone that would let me.they fly pts out at brain death. Now my record is tarnished for no reason.i ALWAYS asked questions if i wasn't sure of their particular policy on something. They also labeled me as mentally ill. Wrong.they have zero sense of humor. They need to get one cause that place is a JOKE. (4 weeks ago)

This place is a mess! Just sent a lady out who is going to the bathroom on herself and is asking for a diaper and they lost my blood and urine. Been here for hours and never seen anything like this place (2 weeks ago)

I had surgery at Sovah Martinsville last week and it was a great experience from start to finish. Everyone was so compassionate and caring! I was so nervous and they continually kept check on me to make sure I was okay. Dr. Galos did the surgery and he is outstanding! Thanks to everyone at Sovah Martinsville for all that you do for our community every day! (6 months ago)

Kept in ER over 12 hrs because of lack of staff on floor. Rooms were available. No one check on patient in ER for long periods at a time Patient laid in wet gown and bed because no one was available to change patient. Monitor alarms went off no one came to check on them. Enigma giving no one came to clean patient. Anyone using this hospital should consider going anywhere else. This hosipat should not be allowed to operated until they can fully function as a hospital.
