I have been going to Mass Eye and Ear in Boston for many years. The Dortors are great, but the front desk staff are not professional, not helpful. Last week I went to my appointment at Boston. A older white woman was at the front desk, first floor. She said to me that the hospital didn't get the referral from my doctor at mass general hospital. I asked her that if she has the referral telephone number for Mass General Hospital that I can call. She said no. She was rude. I went to ask another front desk staff person, same answer, "NO". So I decided to walk to next door at Mass General Hospital to get the referral phone number. Before I left the front desk, the woman at the front desk threatened me that if I don't come back in ten minutes, I maybe not able to see the doctor. I went to the information desk at Mass General Hospital. There was a older gentleman there to help me, less than a minute, I got the phone number. He was very professional and respectful . Big contras between Mass General Hospital and Mass Eye and Ear staff! By the way, l got the referral myself for the appointment less than ten minutes. Am I going back to Mass Eye and Ear in the future? I haven't decide yet. (a month ago)

I had SCD brain surgery with Dr. Daniel Lee at Mass Eye and Ear. The level of care during my surgery and six day stay was beyond my expectations! Everyone was so kind and thoughtful during my recovery. Dr. Lee and his medical team are truly superb! I highly recommend Mass Eye and Ear. (a month ago)

A R

I had a very unethical experience at this place. I called in to make an appointment with an ENT. The day of my appointment the MD says she is a brain Doctor. She couldn’t even bring to herself to say what she was, a psychiatrist. I booked an appointment for tinnitus and the next thing I know their “big” specialist for this, according to the receptionist was this woman that comes in from MGH once a month at MEE. The patient had a right to know that they are not seeing an ENT. Don’t get me wrong. I just want to be clear the patients needs to know. I assume because it is MEE I was seeing an ENT. Very untrained receptionists. MEE might have this and that but exceptionally inept in handling tinnitus or even long term care for ENT issues. Their website is also terrible misleading about research and treatments. Once you are in the Partners share records, be aware that you might not be getting a good long term plan. Another story to tell. For this alone they deserve no start. I talked to my Partners MD about this and he said he would’ve been furious. (3 weeks ago)

My son underwent cochlear implant at MASSACHUSETTS EYE AND EAR INFIRMARY one year ago. the surgeon was DANIEL LEE. He choose the N6 sound processor with the CI 512 implant. My son improving on daily basis and he is catching up his speaking and communication skills without any limitations. Dr Lee, cochlear company and MEEI all are the best.👍 (3 months ago)
