Pros: Well run, very organized, respectful ED. Got seen and treated in the same day, so big stress and time saver. Cons: No written discharge instructions at all, despite having a pretty major procedure. Expected better after care and follow up. Upped my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Having seen my concerns posted here, Mass Eye and Ear contacted me and a doctor talked me through what I should expect and what precautions I should take for the next couple of weeks. (3 weeks ago)

I have been going to Mass Eye and Ear in Boston for many years. The Dortors are great, but the front desk staff are not professional, not helpful. Last week I went to my appointment at Boston. A older white woman was at the front desk, first floor. She said to me that the hospital didn't get the referral from my doctor at mass general hospital. I asked her that if she has the referral telephone number for Mass General Hospital that I can call. She said no. She was rude. I went to ask another front desk staff person, same answer, "NO". So I decided to walk to next door at Mass General Hospital to get the referral phone number. Before I left the front desk, the woman at the front desk threatened me that if I don't come back in ten minutes, I maybe not able to see the doctor. I went to the information desk at Mass General Hospital. There was a older gentleman there to help me, less than a minute, I got the phone number. He was very professional and respectful . Big contras between Mass General Hospital and Mass Eye and Ear staff! By the way, l got the referral myself for the appointment less than ten minutes. Am I going back to Mass Eye and Ear in the future? I haven't decide yet. (3 months ago)

I had SCD brain surgery with Dr. Daniel Lee at Mass Eye and Ear. The level of care during my surgery and six day stay was beyond my expectations! Everyone was so kind and thoughtful during my recovery. Dr. Lee and his medical team are truly superb! I highly recommend Mass Eye and Ear. (3 months ago)
