5 stitches cost $5,000. I cut my hand at night after the urgent cares in the area had closed and I was worried that waiting until the morning to go to urgent care might cause infection/further damage. If I had known it would cost this much I would have risked it. Especially because when I got to Mad River there was only one doctor on staff, so I had to wait for 6 hours to be seen, defeating the purpose. I've called to ask for a breakdown of my bill twice, one of those times the person I talked in the patient accounts department was completely rude and condescending. It was very clear she did not intend to help me or answer my questions. I went in to ask questions in person and fortunately met with someone much nicer. She told me I could file a complaint form and the hospital would investigate my case. So I filed the form and got a letter back that did not answer my questions or address my concerns, ignoring every specific point I made in my initial inquiry. Also the hospital's online bill pay site is really really sketchy. The general appearance, the word "donate" in the address, and the lack of terms/conditions gives me no confidence in the site. I am absolutely not going to type my credit card number into it. (3 months ago)

I’m never going back to Mad River. If you can go to another hospital go there. If Mad River is your only option I’m sorry. Expect wait times to be long. I waited over 4 hours in pain laying on the ER gurney in the middle of the night-early morning. During which time I had to explain what a hot water bottle is to my nurse because he had no idea what it was. When the Dr finally showed up he gave the classic excuse that he has other patients. (He’s the only ER doctor I’ve seen there) He was incredibly dismissive of what I was telling him. When he asked which medication help me and I told him he called me a drug seeker. He then administer a shot for nausea and 2 bags of fluids then discharged me. I ended up going to St. Joseph‘s almost immediately after leaving to actually be treated. (4 months ago)

The nursing staff is top notch. The rest of my experience left something to be desired. (a week ago)

Just went to get X-Rays from two different doctors-hips and knees. I chose to walk-in instead of schedule an appointment. I left my house (7min drive) at 1:05 and was back in my car at 1:40. Michelle at Admitting was quick, professional but funny--exactly who you want no matter what procedure you are checking in for (I give her 8☆'s). Then, I brought my papers back to Radiology-Again fast and friendly! I sat down to pull out my phone for the wait and hadn't even unlocked my screen before my X-Ray man came to fetch me. He was fantastic as well! Commenting on my Joan Jett concert Tshirt, we talked about how great she was, when I recently was right in front of her as she rocked it. He got my films done in record time and made a suggestion for repositioning me, to save me an extra $hot. The entire experience was excellent and I left the hospital smiling and eager to let the Google world know what a great experience I had! I was run over by a drunk driver in a truck, so I have had many hospital visits since 1995, this was a great one!! Thanks to everyone who helped me today. It was faster than ordering a pizza from Domino's and almost as satisfying. (6 months ago)

Been waiting for four hours for my friend to go in and the nurses are rude when I ask questions as to why every other person who might I add was white has been seen in less than twenty minutes but not my friend. She has been crying and in pain and the doctors are not even acknowledging her. Terrible hospital. Do not recommend unless you want to be discriminated against. (4 months ago)
