The staff deserves 5 stars, front desk ladies and nurses are very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, even though customer service is important, it is not why most people would choose a certain emergency room over another one. I visited the emergency room for severe dental pain I have been suffering from for 3 days (on a long holiday weekend) with very little sleep and not being able to eat. I was seen by the assistance physician Nicole Wallace. She shined her flashlight inside my mouth for about 5 seconds, and advised she did not observe any dental abscess so she was going to give me something for my pain there at hospital. I advised her that there was an abscess right under that tooth in my gum (it is hard to miss). She then acted surprised and advised she would prescribe antibiotics and give me something for my pain there at the ER, but she made it a point to specify and tell me I AM NOT GOING TO PRESCRIBE ANY NARCOTIC PAIN MEDICATION. Overall, very dissatisfied with the service, and felt discriminated or categorized as a substance abuser. As a matter of fact, I have never used any drugs and I served my Country honorably. I pay good money for my own health insurance, and emergency room visits are not cheap at all. The least a Physician can do is take a decent look at you and evaluate all factors in a competent way. Will most likely not be returning to this hospital and it is a shame since the nurses and staff are very good. (in the last week)

I fell off our roof onto our pool deck and broke three vertebrae and split my skull open. The busy ER whisked me through into treatment. I spent six days between ICU, and and regular rooms. Every employee asked if they could do anything more for me, even the housekeepers. The care was incredible to a person and the follow up was outstanding. Fortunately my nerve damage was minimal and I walk unencumbered. The difference between the new attitude and operations of this health system and its formers self are remarkable. The new CEO is visible, respected and demands patients are the priority. In my opinion this is the only true Patient CARE facility in Polk County. I would go nowhere else. (a month ago)

I had been having a mild chest pain for about two days. While waiting in the ER room, I had concerns about getting my blood drawn because last time that gave me nerve damage. I couldn't move my arm for about a month. I was just voicing my concerns to the nurse, but this black woman with short hair just barged into the room and started yelling, "This is a hospital and we have procedures here! We can't discharge you unless you go through with this! It's also for your own good!" That was very insulting not only because she did it right in front of my wife, but also she somehow overheard this supposedly confidential conversation between me as a patient and the nurse as a healthcare provider. My wife and I were both shocked that she was so rude. Though the actual doctor and the registered nurse were very nice to me, I can't really recommend this hospital. (a month ago)

I get great care here. LRMC is my go-to hospital when I'm sick or injured. Now they have the family health clinic across from the emergency room. I've had the same doctor for more than 2 years now. Great (a week ago)

Our ER experience was so good that I wanted to give 5 stars! My husband was seen immediately, they were competent and kind, and we had an answer what was wrong in exactly 3 hours. He was admitted, and that's where I have to knock off 1 star because communication between ER and medical was not good so the treatment plan discussed in the ER wasn't implemented for about 8 hours. All in all, it's still the best hospital experience we've had by far. The ER staff were so, so kind and compassionate. It felt like we were their only patients, even though it was a pretty crowded ER. (2 months ago)
