My experience st LWMC was a very positive one. An eye injury led to an ER Trip. The staff was quick, friendly. and efficient. The ER hallways, rooms, and checkin area were clean and much nicer than other hospitals I’ve visited in the polk county area. I was in and out in under 2 hours. Very grateful and thankful they could help. (3 weeks ago)

Unless you’re dying, don’t go here. You will get medical bills for years because they’re so disorganized. You will wait 60min minimum no matter how few people are there. Once, I was there for 90 min and just left because they said it would be at least another 3 hours. You’d be better off going to an urgent care if you are not in a life threatening situation. My mother was in the ER Monday 2/19/18. She came in with shortness of breath, a 104.5 temp and low O2 sats. Her care was efficient, accurate and kind....from everyone that came in contact with her. Dr. Misah was a blessing and has the best bedside manner I have ever seen and I have been in the medical field 27 years and an RN 15 years. This same high level quality of care followed her throughout her hospital stay. (4 months ago)

Can I give zero stars? I waited six months before writing this review as I did not want to provide it in anger and frustration. After seeing my father's quick deterioration while in this hospital, and witnessing nursing staff blatantly ignoring doctor's orders on several occasions, I had him moved on a holiday weekend to the Orlando hospital where he quickly improved. My father told me he thought he was going to die at Lake Wales Medical Center and the care given in Orlando, and then Winter Haven made him realize how poorly he was treated in Lake Wales. There was also one surgeon that when I questioned him, he told me that he just "fired" one patient and was not afraid to do it a second time. Needless to say, I fired him first. Go to Winter Haven when necessary. They consider the elderly patients at Lake Wales to be "throw away" patients. Yes, that term was overheard. (6 months ago)

THIS place is by far the absolute best place we’ve been to EVER my wife is type 1 diabetic with insulin pump and g5 tslim. She came in with DKA and she is a very hard stick sometimes taking 4plus hrs to get line in she’s had 4 medical ports in which her body rejects they literally had a central line in less then 6 min WOW and the guy that does all the other stuff want to say a nurse but it’s not because he’s a guy he’s awesome to very very intentive and very kind ALL the staff is very knowledgeable caring and gental (2 months ago)
