My husband is currently in ICU, we have been here for a couple of days now. We had options - I had to make a decision on treatment for a cardiac issue - I could have had him stabilized and treated just north of where we live in Sanilac County, he would have been transferred to Hurley Medical Center in Flint Michigan, I could have taken him to McLaren in PH, having just had a horrific emergency cardiac experience with my father in Dec 2017, not an option or here at Lake Huron Medical Center. I took a gamble and chose Lake Huron Medical Center - ER treated my husband immediately without hesitation, they were knowledgeable, professional, attentive, efficient and above all caring. He would be admitted to ICU where he has had the absolute best care I have seen in many years in a facility. The staff has been amazing, they have answered questions, address any and all concerns, they have been immensely attentive to his health condition and beyond cooperative. They have even made certainly to work with us so our special needs child could come and visit briefly. The care and concern for their patients are a rarity in today's "big hospital mentality". Excellent immediate professional care! They treated my daughter wonderfully. Dr. Murphy sat down and answered every question we had and nurse Trish was an amazingly caring professional who was very personable. While not the closest ER to my house it was well worth the drive. (4 months ago)

In my opinion, I have many different Star Ratings I would like to share. 5 Stars for being seen right away in the Emergency Room. 5 Stars to the ladies at the front desk of the Emergency Room at night for friendliness and for being compassionate and caring. 5 Stars to the Main hospital for cleanliness and friendliness. 5 Stars to the Outpatient Imaging Department for being timely and friendly. 5 Stars to Medical Records for also being timely, friendly, organized and very willing to help. 5 Stars to the Registration Department 5 Stars to all the wonderful volunteers. 1 Star for the way some of the emergency room nurses won't listen to what your trying to explain, (numerous occasions for my whole family), and for when they assume people want something they don't. I give a big Zero Star for the two separate occasions when 2 of my children were discharged from the Emergency Room, one we drove right away to another hospital and received treatment, the second I drove to another hospital 2 hours later for emergency surgery due to a hemorrhage bleed from a tonsillectomy 12 days post (did not have any surgery's there.) I do not feel that the ER Dr's there are qualified to treat children. Again, this is just my opinion. (7 months ago)

It took almost two years to get a bill, and I am trying to discuss this bill with an outsourced company that takes weeks to communicate with this medical center. (a month ago)

I'm a nurse and embarrassed to say that this hospital is worse than a vetrainary clinic. In fact, you'd get better care from a vet. They don't care. No one communicates and they can't wait to discharge patients and charge insurances. No one changes the linens or attempts to do what the patients wishes are. Disgusting and an embarrassment to the healthcare community. (a month ago)
