I've been a member for more than 30 years. Next year, I will shop for another provider. Why? Kaiser's mental-health services are so bad as to be offensive. Don't take my word for it, though. Kaiser has been fined MILLIONS of dollars for not meeting legal requirements. Try to get a counselor and they'll shunt you into a class where the leaders arrive late, the classroom isn't set up, the handouts are still being copied, the audio-visual is down, and the leaders are confused, sullen, and have zero energy for their work. Next to you you'll find poor souls who announce they're contemplating suicide. You'll find people with SEVERE mental illness with those who could use a little help for a life crisis. You'll find people with very different diagnoses and treatment needs crammed together, when the recommended treatments for their conditions are quite different. This is shameful. Absolutely shameful. I'd expect as much from the corporation, but the individual professionals? They're just dialing it in for a paycheck and they know it. Two of them have admitted as much to me. Everyone I talk to who's tried Kaiser mental health has been horrified, and both "outside" counselors I've found roll their eyes and shake their heads when I discuss my Kaiser experience. As I've said, I've been with them for over 30 years. This year is my last. But don't take my word for it -- a simple Google search will find a raft of complaints and bad history for use when you make YOUR decision. Good luck to you. (a month ago)

Labor & delivery department- 5 stars! My baby girl was born here 6th November, 2017. It has been an amazing experience. I have been meaning to write a review for so long but finding time with a newborn at home was not easy. Susan, Lorraine & Michael - My heartfelt gratitude 🙏🏽 to these amazing people that made my labor& delivery experience beautiful. You are such good energy!! Thank you so much!🙏🏽 My experience at kaiser Walnut Creek has been so great that it makes me want to have another baby soon 😄 The nurses & mid wife's here are just amazing! The care I received made me forget that there was no other family around other than me and my husband. I recommend kaiser at Walnut Creek to all pregnant woman 😊 (5 months ago)

I went to the ER with my wife in November having heart trouble. We waited for nearly 8 hours, no joke, 8. When my wife asked for help after 5 hours, the doctor said you can stand, you are doing fine. There is nothing to describe the apathy of these people. (a month ago)

Even though my situation was emergent since I was not a member of KP I was refused treatment. That is against the law. I had even called their admin offices to ask if I could have the procedure necessarily and she assured me I would since it was illegal to turn away an ER patient. (2 weeks ago)

My first negative experience with Kaiser. I had 4 staples inserted in my scalp at Kaiser ER San Leandro where they were wonderful. After 14 Days I needed to have them removed. Somehow I was told i could not go to San Leandro or San Ramon for this procedure which are the closest to me. I had to go to Walnut Creek Minor Injury Clinic which is 45 to 60 minutes away. There the staff was unpleasant to me from the front desk to the dr. to the Medical Assistant (MA) who removed the staples. The MA would not have spoken to me when she brought me back if I had not spoken to her. She did not confirm my name, as I’m accustomed to. She did not introduce herself. The Dr. looked at my staples and was out of the room in literally 5 seconds. At least he introduced himself. The MA did not introduce herself or ask how I was. She removed the staples (took about 30 seconds) and indicated I could leave. No goodbye or have a nice day. I asked if there was any bleeding and she said no, none at all. I realize this is a minimal complaint, but I’m treated better at the grocery store. The staff all seem to be very unhappy to be there. The receptionist went back to studying her smart phone after checking me in. Everyone seemed very unhappy. There must be a back story here, but don’t take it out on me. (a month ago)
