Where to begin? I was here for surgery over a holiday weekend. I liked the doctor...professional, explained what he was doing and all of the risks involved. Follow up care was very good. HOWEVER, we get to the care on the floor for my overnight stay. First time I had to use the restroom after waking from surgery, I was attached to the IV monitor and a heart/blood pressure monitor. No one told me that I was to UNPLUG the IV monitor from the wall and get to the restroom myself. I pressed the call button THREE TIMES in 20 minutes (I timed it). NO ONE CAME OR ANSWERED. I got out of bed, yanked the plug on the monitor out of the wall, and went to the bathroom. When one of the many people who go in and out of your room when you DON'T need them came in, I told them what happened. The call button receiver WAS NEVER TURNED ON. Then, they gave me an oxygen tube during the night...my levels were low. When a surgical assistant came in to check on me, he asked why I had it. I told him. His response: IT ISN"T EVEN ON. Yeah. Then, I overheard the nurses talking outside of my room. One commented that 2 nurses for 9 post-op patients "had to be illegal". Two patients on the floor that night were very high-maintenance. One had mental issues, so there were outbursts and defiance, so I really felt for the nurses. I think they were stretched beyond the limit. (a month ago)

Waiting room 10 min. In room waiting for doctor about 5 min. Did every test there is for blood and urinalysis. Nurse was not patient. Left with a guess of what was wrong. Total visit was 2 1/2 hours so that was good. Overall visit was good compared to before UPMC took over. (3 months ago)

Sharp and glossy registration does not mask the low level of care by the doctors. Nurses are locked into having the doctor to approve everything. Trying to file a complaint is useless as it falls to the nursing staff who only submit it to the doctors who wronged you in the first place and say there is nothing wrong. This place needs serious federal oversight and a complaint process that does more than parrot the doctor's I-am-God-you-cannot-sue-me response....And now UPMC no longer allows opioid medications for cronic pain! UPMC's idea of Pain Management of Chronic Pain is void of compassion and common sense. (4 weeks ago)

I took my daughter in last night at 8:30pm. There was only 2 people in line in front of us. We sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half because there were no beds. They did all the test on her and the doctor came in at midnight with the results and said he would get the discharge papers. I didn't sign the discharge papers til 1:20am. Really almost 5 hours for them to tell me my daughter has the flu. I have never seen an emergency room take so long. (3 months ago)

Good service every time I've been there (for myself & our children). Clean, friendly place. Obviously, some of the bad reviews are from people who didn't get their way or are never happy with anything. Nothing but positive things to say about Jameson...let's hope (and pray) that UPMC continues the tradition of good community health care. P.S.....some of the people who wrote reviews can't even spell OR use proper grammar. Go figure! (5 months ago)
