Location and Directions

Back in April 2018,I had surgery and had to come here because my surgeon could not do the surgery at the other hospitals. To be honest,I was skeptical about coming to Jackson because of all the negative reviews I had read. PLEASE DON'T BELIEVE THEM! My stay was wonderful, had my surgery,Dr.came in later and the next morning told me what I needed to do to go home and went home the day after surgery. The nursing staff was WONDERFUL! They answered the call lights as promptly as they could (I work in a hospital and sometimes nurses are in pt. rooms and cannot answer),they were pleasant and cheerful, and always answered my questions. The admitting staff was also wonderful, they also walked me through all the paperwork, explaining it before I signed anything. On a totally different note,I read a lot of complaints from people complaining that they are not allowed to smoke in the rooms, have to go through metal detectors to get inside, and cannot walk around the hospital. THIS IS STANDARD AT THE OTHER HOSPITALS IN THE AREA! (in the last week)

Go somewhere else if possible! You're in a prison.Youre not allowed to smoke a cigarette even after you have a private room. Youre not allowed to walk around or leave your room. You're not allowed to leave. You have to walk through a metal detector just to get to the emergency room. Half the people are nice.. avoid this place if you can.. (2 weeks ago)

If you want your family members to live, DO NOT let them step foot into this hospital. The doctor's do not make decisions that are in the best interest of the patient. They lack bedside manners. A doctor I spoke with on the phone told me that he was busy buying groceries to prepare breakfast for himself, and he would call me back. This was said right after he told me my father probably wouldn't make it through the day. After that conversation, his phone went to voicemail (which was full) for the rest of the day. He never called back to give my anymore information. The staff is rude. No one is on the same page. Everyone has a different response to questions asked, leaving family confused. They discuss patients personal information in public settings. Staff at the nursing station on the 3rd floor were unprofessional and behaving as if they were at home. My father's medical records were such a mess that the staff at the hospital he was transferred to, had to contact my sister and I to get a better understanding of his history. Is no one seeing the trends at this hospital!? It is an unorganized mess! I have no idea how it's still up and running. (in the last week)

I recently had to go to The ER for something and I was treated very well.Everybody was nice, helpful and professional. I was at ease the entire time. (a month ago)

Just horrible sister has now been waiting 2hrs just to come from dialysis.. OMG.. they missed give her the antibiotics the night before and keep refusing her pain meds until they see her womb.. it should not be this damn difficult (a month ago)
