This is what my arm looks like 2 days after a nurse tried to put an IV in. Blood was everywhere. Then after, she didn't even clean my blood up. I sat in dried blood. She acted annoyed with ME because she doesn't know how to put an IV in. She did NOT seem new either. Hours and hours to wait for tests back. Also, pushed out of my room to let another patient in. Had to stand in the hallway for 20 minutes waiting on discharge papers while I was still ill. Avoid this place. Update: they deleted my photo. I will continue to add it because they dont want others seeing what they did. (3 weeks ago)

Easily worst experience I've ever had at a health facility. Took a family member in to the emergency room. Waiting room freezing cold. Took over 2 hours to get called into an examination room. But happy that things were moving forward. Wrong! Spent another hour in the examination room waiting for the doctor. Room also very cold but this time we have no TV, no magazines nothing. So we're at 3 hours now after seeing doctor. Well add 4 more to that. Yep, we spent 5 hours total in that cold examination room (after the 2 hours in the big waiting room) with no TV, nothing to read, my cell phone long ago dead. The family member had not eaten since lunch. I had not eaten since breakfast. Not a single staff member bothered to check on us. When I complained, we were offered water and crackers. I accepted the offer of water. It never came. My family member was so exhausted he had trouble walking when he was requested to give a urine sample I too was exhausted. We checked in at 3:41 pm. By 10:45 I had had enough. I demanded that he be discharged which order they complied with. We never did get the test results we had waited 7 hours plus to hear. This hospital does not seem the least bit concerned about patient welfare or safety. Reading these reviews, it is apparent that these problems at IU Health West Hospital have been going on for some time. Some hospital administrators at that facility need to lose their jobs. (in the last week)

The staff that takes care of registering for labs and xrays and the ones administering them (on Saturdays) were all so helpful and friendly. They all definitely went above and beyond. (2 weeks ago)

The emergency staff was AWESOME taking care of my elderly neighbor with a heart issue! Everyone was helpful and kind and the care was above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend this hosp. for at least their emergency care, which is all I can speak on as she was transferred to Methodist to a particular doctor. (3 months ago)

My sister was admitted to the hospital last night for a stroke and the everyone on staff was outstanding and so great with my sister. The nurses on call from the time she was admitted around 8:30/9 pm treated her so well and so kind and empathetic. I can't say enough about them...im so thankful and appreciative. (3 months ago)
