My mom was taken here three times the last 6 weeks. They have her wait 8-10 hours for the doctors without actual progress. She was released too early each time, and became even more sick than before. The only good thing about the Emergency Room and Hospital Inpatient are 80% of the nurses in Unit 56. I can say more but I’m too furious right now sitting in the Emergency Room watching my Mom in pain while the doctors and nurses walk around acting like we should be grateful when they actually talk to us! When you go to the doctors of the world you will feel safe. But if you go to this hospital and feel it. No one cares about your illness. They do not care about patient safety. (3 weeks ago)

I ended up in this ER with a really bad bout of food poisoning and very dehydrated. Unfortunately I have a rare neurological condition. All I needed was 2 bags of saline and a mild sedative. I spent 6 hours explaining to 5 different doctors and nurses how to better help me. Out of 5 people not one of them listened. I spent 6 hours flopping around in a seizure before having a friend take me to somewhere where I could get some real help. Instead of being the science mystery for the zuckerberg ER that day. Did not have a pre organized ER. Had to assemble an avengers like team in order to treat trauma. There was ring uniting involved and spandex. Would not recommend. Too flashy and commercialized. Will charge you $15,666 to watch ER team organize and unite to “save the day”. (2 weeks ago)

VERY mixed experiences: The good: Fantastic quick diagnosis of NMO and initial treatment by Neurology dept. Mostly world-class care from doctors, nurses and other staff over 4 weeks. HOWEVER: HUGE errors were made! TWO representatives from 'patient advocacy' a.k.a. the 'office of patient experience' came to my room to receive a grievance, took it, and then FAILED to file it. They never apologized. The grievance was regarding a horribly botched lung biopsy operation. The expert surgeon who obtained my blatantly misinformed consent LIED to me. He didn’t do the operation; a doctor in training did and she was poorly supervised (I heard it) and screwed up, causing my lung to COLLAPSE (!) and I was in HORRIFIC pain (so bad that I was curled over, unable to lie down, and could only whisper) which they didn’t treat for HOURS because they felt the need to consult with the on-call neurologist first, who didn’t respond to an urgent page. I was left ALONE in the OR in unbearable pain. Surgeon did apologize! (months later) Days later, staff also made 4 medical errors dispensing painkillers which fortunately I prevented. They have “advanced” technology to prevent medical errors but it’s buggy as hell; it should have prevented what I prevented just in time. I would put money on it it hasn’t been fixed, based on the way my grievance was handled. Also see my ER review. Richard Fine/1M clinic is GREAT. (a month ago)
