Went to Highland District this morning with my daughter. She is in serious pain. We were there all day. They didn't find out what is wrong with her. We left there and went to Clinton Memorial Hospital. They are talking about emergency surgery, either tonight or tomorrow. I wouldn't take my dog to Highland District. I love her too much. Well, today it was verified by an ultrasound at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington that my daughter has gallstones. She will be having surgery today. Highland District Hospital would have let her die. (3 months ago)

My husband made 3 ER trips, admitted twice and I couldn't have been happier with every single person we encountered, they were compassionate and caring over and above. I have had several outpatient surgeries and tests done there and I had the same experience (2 months ago)

I had a procedure at HDH before which I had to be sedated. The nurses in the endoscopy suite (with the exception of the nurse anesthetist) were uncaring, almost to the point of being rude. I also take issue with the whole anesthesia thing....I feel that not only should someone have explained I would be given hefty sedation, they should have explained I would receive a hefty bill for it!!!! The worst hospital! If you can make it 30 minutes to another hospital it will be worth it for you to go ANYWHERE else. My 8 year old daughter went in with chest pains, having just started medicine with side effects that cause heart issues, and they had her sitting in the waiting room to go back for the hour it took me to drive from Cincinnati! When I approached the desk to ask why she was still waiting to be seen and how long it was going to take the ladies at the desk ignored me until I called Children's Hospital, who told us to get to the nearest hospital in the beginning. When they finally decided to speak to me they were very rude and spoke to me like chest pains wasn't an issue that needed to be seen immediately. When I said if you won't see her now then I will leave and e her somewhere else she said well if you decide to stay then we will take her back to get vitals in a minute.... another lady who had a history of chest pains had waited 4.5 hours and still hadn't been seen! Wouldn't even give one star if I didn't have to... the nurses and doctors are horrible, super slow and so disrespectful. I have never been more disrespected in my life. They don't care about the patients at all, and no matter what you say you're always wrong. It's absolutely ridiculous. This place needs shut down. They don't know anything and I feel as if they Google the symptoms and tell you you have the first thing that pops up. People deserve better than this and it's sad that this is what we have to deal with. (7 months ago)
