I went there by ambulance. I had broken several vertebrae in my neck. I was treated very well in the trauma center. When I had corrective surgery it was done with great skill. The nursing care was very good. Thanks. (a month ago)

On vacation ended up sick and out of state. They signed me in almost immediately and was seen within the hr. Pleasant staff and clean hospital. (a month ago)

My 3 year old son goes to Children’s Medical Center in Port Orange. In a recent visit he needed to be transferred to the hospital because he wasn’t responding to antibiotics. The doctor called ahead and had a room waiting for us when we got there. The staff was wonderful and kept us feeling calm during a time that was really stressful. Thank you to the staff at Children’s Medical Center and Halifax Port Orange for care and compassion with my son and our family. (3 months ago)

Worst experience ever with a hospital. Wanted 3hrs and never got seen. They would call the same three people who already got mad and walked out.. instead of moving on and calling the next few people they would go back in to the back..come out 30min to an hour later and call the same damn people. No wonder its called Killafax. (in the last week)

I am a nurse who worked for Halifax for 7 years. I live in Port Orange. I have very mixed reviews regarding this hospital. They will not treat anything cardiac nor ortho. That’s fine, but it’ll cost you a lot of cash to be transferred to the “big house” in Daytona should the need arise. I recently had excruciating back pain and begged my husband to take me to the ER after trying to treat it at home. I sat in a treatment room for 3.5 hours and nobody, except a CNA even checked in on me, and that was only once. I heard every single hippa violation that night. Who was drunk, who was a “frequent flyer” who smelled, etc. I heard nurses complaining about their schedules, their pay...etc. I could have been having a heart attack, a gall bladder attacking etc. the fact is....NO ONE CARED!!! I was in pajama pants because I literally could not move to get dressed. I am sure that the staff thought I was drug seeking. It’s a sad sign of the times. I suggest the staff at port orange Halifax get some serious training on how to respect and treat their patients. I am, quite frankly disgusted with my local hospital. Shame on you. And shame on your administrator. (2 weeks ago)
