I recently went to Hahnemann Emergency Department for an allergic reaction while visiting the Philadelphia area. The doctors, nurses, and other staff members were friendly and helpful. They were attentive to my needs and actually listened, which is more than you get from many doctors these days. My experience was pleasant (or as pleasant as can be expected for having to visit the ER in the middle of the night), and I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone in need of care. My brother was taken here after a serious motorcycle accident. ICU staff was amazing; however, once they placed him on a different floor it was terrible! We found out he had to get jaw surgery again because the first surgery didn’t close his jaw completely, he was pressing the button for a nurse because he was in pain, but no one would come and he couldn’t talk to them over the speaker, finally someone came and realized his IV wasn’t completely in and he wasn’t getting his pain meds! A button was beeping throughout the night and he kept trying to call someone. The person on the speaker said it was just the battery. Here, once again when someone finally came, it was because he was out of fluids! I wish I could switch his hospital to where I know my brother will be taken care of properly with capable and caring staff even outside of ICU! (a month ago)

Parking is on public lots and valet. All persons must show an ID badge or sign in as a visitor. Hospital is busy but the staff are nice. (2 months ago)

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. The got my baby birthday wrong on his paperwork. So now I have to get a new birth certificate and social security number. When I was in the hospital. They come in your room every 2-3 hours. So you can't sleep. They tell you that you have a choice in what you want to do. But you don't. I hate this hospital with a passion. (5 months ago)

Over the past 2 months I spent 21 days at Hahnemann. This rating is for inserting IVs and drawing blood only. When it comes to IVs my experience was disastrous. I was told that the nurses get their training On the Job. Patients are the guinea pigs. Hahnemann does not have a lab where experienced nurses insert IVs and draw blood. I think the administration should consider implementing a process where only specific nurses are assigned these tasks. (6 months ago)
