Recently spent several days enjoying their hospitality and care. Came in through ER and spent first night there as no rooms were available. Excellent care, fantastic attention to detail and moved to room following morning. Fourth floor staff could not have been better. Had multiple blood transfusions, tests, etc with absolutely no issue. Over the years I’ve been in many many hospitals and the care I received at Grand Strand was second to none. (a week ago)

Was there on the third floor! I've been there for 5 way bypass and when it was time to leave after doing all the paperwork my wife left to get the car. I waited for 25 minutes and no one came to wheel me out to the main floor! So I just got up and walked out!! The last time I was there I was on the third floor and had to go and do dialysis and had no breakfast! I am a cardiovascular patient, renal failure, and type two diabetes ! The lady was nice enough to call up to the third floor to make them aware that I needed my breakfast! He said sure he would bring it down!!! 4 hrs laying on the gurney doing dialysis and no food! He also said that I was being transferred to another room and all my stuff would be in my new room. Never happened!! The male nurse was more concerned about being on the computer doing his paperwork so he could get off quickly!! He should not be a nurse as he only came in twice , said hi and he will be right back, which never happened!! I just had an aortic valve replacement a couple of months ago and the surgeon was great! But I am glad I left after three days. I think I'm headed to McCleod next time.! (in the last week)

This is the biggest hospital in the area and is the worst, very incompetent. Their service is horrible and the nurses are rude. I was left on the Hospital's hallway for 2 hours without any information while my husband who went there with an ambulance was dying. Their were very quick to come and get the insurance information from me, but when I ask for medical record or what they happened to him that night, they will not release them to me. My husband died on their watch in November and I still don't have the autopsy results or Death Certificate after 21 weeks which I was promised to have them in 12 weeks. I have talked to several people and nobody cares. They listen to you, empathize with you but nothing gets done. The hospital doesn't care about a person's life, my husband was only 46y old and never been sick or abused anything. This hospital doesn't even deserve 1 star. Stay away from this hospital. Are so many other small ones that care about people's life not the money. (a month ago)

While on vacation this past weekend my son got sick. I took him here and the doctors and staff were amazing. My son is doing much better and we have the people at the grand strand medic center to thank for that. This one nurse In particular made our visit super special nurse Barbara was so awesome and we are thankful she was taking care of our needs she was very nice and caring to my son! Can't thank you guys enough!💖 (a month ago)

Was scheduled for a mammogram. Arrived at the time I was instructed to, filled out all necessary paperwork and waited 20-25 minutes. When called back, I was asked if I wanted the 3D mammogram (which I did because that is what my Doctor ordered). It was then that I was told the machine was "down". I was extremely upset because I had to use PTO for this visit. All could have been avoided IF THEY WOULD HAVE JUST CALLED ME WHEN THEY REALIZED IT WOULD BE DOWN FOR MY APPOINTMENT. I'm seriously considering finding a different facility since communication obviously isn't important to them. (3 weeks ago)
