this hospital has not paid unemployment insurance for god knows how long. after laying of a bunch of people they all they all found out they get no unemployment due to this. they also have been stealing all the employees retirement money. this like most government agencies In the usvi is mismanaged and downright criminal. run as fast as you can if they offer you a job. of you work there as I did get out while you can. DISASTER AFFECTED AREA : Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center sustained damage to parts of it’s roof from Hurricane Maria and still is recovering. Many patients was evacuated and the facility loss staff members due to the storm. It is the island only main hospital and JFL team is trying to improve conditions because they also treat visitors and we’re tourism boosting after September’s 2017 storms. (2 weeks ago)

My experience at Juan F. Luis was disconcerting at best. Fortunately, I was only there for a broken leg. During my stay I was neglected, made fun of and was handled without compassion. I had to ask for someone to attend to a laceration on my hand. I am thankful to the ambulance staff that picked me up and brought me to be helped. I just wish things had been different. Even in extreme pain I couldn’t wait to get out of that place. (4 months ago)

My mother is currently sitting in that hell hole with 2 aneurysms, waiting to be transported to Puerto Rico. I cannot get any answers from the staff and they are very rude, NO COMPASSION and hanging up on me I call the ER and the person that I spoke to, was very short in her answers, rude, and non-informative. I pray that my mother does not die because if their neglectfull ways. I work in a military base in the States and I feel like my hands are tied, with no control. God Please Watch Over My Mother! This is the Worst Hospital that I have ever dealt with in my lifetime. (a year ago)

While the experience from most has not been positive, I must say from my own experience that the staff at the hospital provided me & my family member that needed emergency surgery with superior service. I too am a Virgin Islander that have moved to the mainland ( Houston, Tx) for more than 20 years and based on the past, I was not prepared for such a great service, but I did. The staff that was on duty today ( April 10, 2016), needs & should be commemorated. They set the stage for others to follow. Thank you all for the service provided to me & my family member with the professionalism that accompanied the experience. Blessings... (2 years ago)
