Very inefficient ER. The reason the ER wait time is long is that even after you get out of the waiting area, you wait much longer, so the ER beds are full of people waiting while the waiting area is full of people waiting for those beds. Spent total of 12 HOURS waiting for treatment. The "room" has curtains as door. So for hours could hear every word and scream of the guy across the hall who was having chest pains that were not being taken seriously by the doctors, even though his wife patiently explained to them that it was a legitimate previously diagnosed problem. The nurse refused to provide any treatment for my excruciating kidney stone pain until the doctor saw me for. Finally the doctor ok'd IV pain killer then sent home still in pain. 12 HOURS for that. Not the greatest facility I've ever seen, but very nice and seems to be well managed. (2 weeks ago)

Just had my son here. The staff was amazing, my whole visit my nurses were so kind and understanding. I felt comfortable asking questions that were kinda stupid and they took great care of me. (3 months ago)

Having just recently moved to Frederick, it is comforting to know that my new community has such an excellent hospital nearby! Earlier this evening my mother began having trouble breathing, after having a bad cough/cold the past few days, and needed to go to the ER. The FMH Emergency Department staff were polite and efficient, yet thorough. My mother was checked in by staff immediately, followed by a brief ( (7 months ago)

My husband fell and lost consciousness we chose the closest hospital, even though the EMT suggested another facility. The ER was awful, I repeatedly had to ask for a Dr. there is a protocol that should be followed after the type of closed head injury he sustained. I kept going to the nursing station until they finally sent a Dr. in, she was very flippant about getting him the CT he should have had immediately. They did not follow a concussion/head injury protocol and so when we had a follow up with his neurologist he was disappointed in the lack of information that was collected to access him after injury in the ER. I called the patient advocate and ended up getting our deductible back after a review of the lack of care given to us. It did take multiple calls and I only knew about this because I work in healthcare. The hospital still stated they believed the care he was given was proper and sufficient, but also gave us our out-of-pocket cost back. Stay away from this ER if you can, they do not properly prioritize patients like a triage facility should. Most recently I went here to have a baby. The intake was quick as I was in labor and contractions about 3 minutes apart. Baby was born quickly and we were moved to room. The nurse Anne was amazing, kind and knowledgeable most of the other nursing staff was good. We arrived just after lunch and for whatever reason I didn't get a dinner. I finally asked the night nurse for something to eat. She was able to get me some food which was fresh and delicious as I was starving. The mom 365 photography was ridiculous, the best I can say is its a scam. The OB experience was good but the haunting experience in the ER here will likely overshadow any time we ever get care here.
