Staff is too busy mocking patients & joking around to get anything done!!! Only gave 1 star because they don't have a negative star column!!! Do not go there unless absolutely have to!!! I'm worse leaving than I was going in!!! Bv the time they came to get me for cat scan they realized I had no i.v. so another hour of waiting for someone to come do that. Nope!!! In worse pain than I started with so I sent em for the discharge papers. Another hour for that!!! Biggest joke of a hospital around!!! Unfortunately, I was born here... Probably explains all my health issues... JOKES!!! (6 months ago)

You can build a pretty new building but unless you get some quality, American US trained doctors to work at this hospital, forget it! Most Indian doctors just don't seem to be as well trained and they definitely lack compassion. The layman/professional difference is complicated by a radical cultural difference which makes getting proper medical care very difficult. I guess it boils down to money and prestige, unless you are from Laporte County and you graduated from a good school with good grades then there are better opportunities in larger metro areas. So we get the bottom of the class and foreign doctors that are still called doctor that lack experience. My last visit to the emergency room in Michigan City was for a fall at work. Very in compassionate staff and defensive doctor when I questioned their diagnosis. The next day I went to a hospital in Chicago, completely different diagnosis, even the X-rays were read incorrect at St Anthony's. I was lucky this time. So CAUTION using this facility. Came in feeling like my heart was racing, I was cold, clammy, and felt like I going to pass out. Still haven't been seen by a dr after almost 4 hours. (6 months ago)

The nurses are very kind and caring but the doctors are absolute trash and clearly don't care about their patients or their comfort. Doctor saw me for 40 seconds before leaving the room for 45 minutes despite being in immense pain... and they were NOT busy! (6 months ago)
