My only experience with the hospital is at the birthing center so I can’t speak for other units, but I had an incredibly positive experience with the birth of my son. I had been hoping for a home birth, but it didn’t work for us financially. I was anxious about giving birth in a hospital, but I found an OB, Dr. Bell, who was supportive of my plans for a natural birth and he delivers at the hospital. The birthing suits are gorgeous! They are big and well decorated for a relaxed environment, with pull out couches for your support person! All the nurses were absolutely wonderful, incredibly accommodating and completely respectful of my birth plan. Not once did I have any interventions pushed on me and I was able to have the natural birth I had hoped for. With my first, whom I birthed at a different hospital, I ended up leaving a day early because I was so anxious to be out of there. This time, I would have happily stayed for a few more days! I have had multiple negative experiences at Fauquier over several years. The worst being when I had an infection two weeks after my daughter was born and after multiple tests and me questioning the area on the ultrasound that clearly showed something was wrong, they told me I was constipated and to go home. My OB said this could have killed me if I didn’t come see him when I did. ER tried hooking you up to morphine even when you say you don’t have much pain (if you are local you know about the opioid epidemic around here). Long wait times and no one cares about the patient. The only way I would come here is if my kid cut her leg off and they could help stop the bleeding until we transferred elsewhere. (2 weeks ago)

They wake patients using AMMONIA! A close family member was taken into the ER, once the doctors got tired of them being there and wanted a bed space they used ammonia under the nose to wake them. They tried to make them leave on their own even though they didn’t have the strength to stand after being sedated earlier by the doctors. I wish I could rank negative for malpractice. Be aware of this hospitals 2.6 star ranking and know that there is a reason why. Do your best to avoid going here if you care for your loved ones safety and well being. (3 months ago)

I came into the emergency room extra extremely sick and in severe pain December 2017 I had four nurses follow me into my room and very soon after the nurse practitioner. Everything about my experience that day was positive I was well taken care of, they understood the pain that I was in and they acted very quickly to help reduce my pain and treat me for what I was there for. I've lived in the community since 1976 and this emergency room visit was the most positive I have ever had. I am thankful for all involved. (6 months ago)

I will be filing a formal complaint with the county and every other possible option about the neglect, abuse, and issues caused by the doctors and nurses at this hospital! Especially the nurses on the third floor! Names & dates have been taken and recorded & I hope these people losee their jobs and are never able to work in healthcare again! If you’re admitted to the third floor, you should check yourself out! After months, no, over a year period of my Dad being admitted for health issues he has been neglected & mistreated over and over again! (2 months ago)
