I was a patient in the ED department Friday July 6th. It was a busy night, and still the staff was quite efficient and attentive. Dr. Tony and Nurse Josh took excellent care to ensure my mind was at ease was I departed about all my medical concerns. Thank you for your kindness and empathy. Pam Andrew (a week ago)

At 1 a.m. on the 10th of May the graveyard nurses and Doctor were fantastic with helping me to and from the restroom when I needed to go and took very good care of me even after I had been discharged while waiting for my ride. Nurses at nurses at shift change when asked to be helped to the restroom said oh you've been discharged here's your crutches have a nice day. There was no way I could walk even with the crutches carrying my belongings to the restroom. I didn't get no help from the nurses from 7 a.m. on and elderly man help me get out to my car with my belongings that we had showed up to the hospital for an appointment. (2 months ago)

Ok I get it. If you read the other reviews they go from 1star to 4 or 5. Here's all I can say about our experience here. We have always found the staff here helpful and friendly, from the ladies collecting bedding to the doctor trying to help you. Its a tough call as a patient, if we don't hear what we want then the hospital is at fault. We have two choices in this area Columbia or Seaside Providence and I would run as fast as I could from Seaside! The majority of the staff here. would be better suited working for NAPA Auto parts unfriendly, not helpful, and incompetent! From the clerks to the doctors who make wrong decisions or none at all. Now I see this, not as the patient but being with my wife and observe it as a spectator. I don't know what the other people experienced while at Columbia Memorial but we have only experienced a facility that seems to care and goes the extra mile. (a week ago)

I have a three year old existing injury that is still painful to this day because of the negligence and ignorance of the staff at this hospital. I broke a small bone in my foot from jumping into a shallow pool. Upon arriving at the hospital I told the doctor that my foot was obviously broken. It had swollen twice the size, and was excruciatingly painful. I got an x-ray and an exam from the doctor. My first clue that the doctor didn't know what he was doing was that he tried to force me to walk on my foot. He insisted i step down on it even though I told him I was in extreme pain and could not. This was before they even got the x-ray back. After they got the x-ray, they said my foot was NOT broken. In-fact it was, I learned when they called me THREE DAYS LATER after looking at it a second time. After the three days had passed I came back to be treated. The doctor gave me a boot, to which I said that it felt like my foot was being pulled down, which obviously would be a bad thing to be doing for a fractured bone. He didn't listen, again. So, I wore the boot for the time he told me to wear it, about one month. I went back in after that time, feeling a little better. One day after the boot was off, I was in pain again. I went to the doctor the next day and told him that I was still in pain and didn't believe I was healed. He acted like I was lying, he was extremely condescending, and basically told me he couldn't do anything for me and suggested I go to someone else. I did, I went to Portland, I got another x-ray. By this time about three months had passed since the injury. The x-ray revealed that MY BONE WAS STILL FRACTURED. The doctor that originally treated me tried to make me walk on a broken foot, told me it wasn't broken, then when he realized it was broken he treated it incorrectly which resulted in an injury that should have been healed in one month, still not healed after FOUR. Because this doctor mistreated me from the very beginning this injury still is painful today, it healed wrong because he did not listen to a word a said the whole way through. I've been told by another doctor that because of my original doctors mistreatment, I would have to re-break the bone and go through the healing process again. He also said I probably have nerve damage because I was treated with a boot when I clearly shouldn't have been. I've never gone back to this hospital again and I've heard similar stories about their radiology department. If you want to heal properly please do not go to this hospital! Go to Seaside hospital, they listen and actually follow correct procedures for injuries, which I feel is not too much to ask from a HOSPITAL. (2 months ago)
