I will begin this with stating that I am a nurse. Cayuga employees treat their volunteers miserably. They do not have the class, courtesy or professionalism to make them feel welcome. They are rude. I know of students from Cornell and Ithaca whom were ignored by the nurses at Cayuga. They introduce themselves and offer to help and do not even receive a courteous reply. If they ignore their volunteers, imagine the lack of attention they give to patients! I worked in a tertiary care center in Westchester county... we appreciated and valued our volunteers. That courtesy was extended to our patients. (3 months ago)

Easily the worst experience of my life. This is a poor excuse for medical care. The staff is extremely rude and incompetent. I was left alone in a room for hours just for someone to come back and give me discharge papers. These nurses are the worst people I have ever met and are an embarrassment to the medical community. I was left on the street with a fever and swollen tonsils because "emergency rooms cannot provide tylenol". My uber driver actually took better care of me than these "medical professionals" (2 months ago)

Trying to get an X-ray appointment, took forever to speak with a human; kept on hold forever. Asked to "hold a second" twice, then put on maddening interminable hold with maddeningly silly background "music." This is NOT service. Come on, people, you can do better. (3 weeks ago)

Service is so slow being triaged is fast but after that the process slows down. If your not coming in, in an ambulance be prepared to wait even if the waiting area is empty. (a month ago)

This review is based 100% on administration: I'm so tired of being sent a bill that should have been dealt with by Worker's Compensation. I've been telling them the same thing for 3 years now. STOP SENDING ME THE BILL. Absolutely atrocious administration. It's no wonder people would rather pay more at Urgent Care or Guthrie. At least the service is consistent. HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU NEED TO BE TOLD THAT IT WAS WORKERS COMP? Honestly, the staff are quite pleasant and the Nurses are awesome (I know a few of them). The administration is pretty much the worst, which makes no sense because they are the ONLY hospital for miles. Has anyone done any research? Where is all that money from the state going?
