My mother suffered a major stroke on 17 June and received the best care shes ever had from the CCU nurses, Dr's Green and Patel as well as the nurses on the 2nd Medical wing. They treated her with the type of compassion and love you would normally find in a family environment not a hospital. She was eventually moved from the CCU to "Comfort Care" which is hospice level care. We were never mislead on the outcome and she passed away a little over 5 days later. I've lived here for over forty years and remember the days I wouldn't take a pet to Carteret General let alone be treated there. Today however is very different. They've come a long way!!! The ER staff were very professional & competent during our visit yesterday. I was especially impressed with the advance online scheduling option. Within 5 minutes of submitting our request a nurse called to confirm it & to tell us to come sooner because of the situation. We would gladly return for any future mishaps. (a week ago)

I had a TKR there 8.3.2015 and another surgery there in June of 2016. I received very good care. I found the nursing staff very good and caring. I was well informed about what was going on and what I need to do. Before my surgery I had blood work and EKGs done here. The staff there was very good. The girl taking the blood, well I almost never knew she did it. After my surgery my Dr came to see me twice and the PA came in three times. The food that was served was also very good. I am planning on going back and having my other knee done here. I have not been to the ER so I have no comment on that. Update May 2018. Had to go to the emergency room for heart condition. Was seen very quickly and everything was handled very professionally. Spent four days in the critical care unit everything was fantastic the nursing staff took very good care of me and again the food was excellent. (a month ago)

I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, and was in Emerald Isle for my brothers wedding over the past weekend. We have some of the very best hospital and medical facilities in the U.S. in Philadelphia, New York, and Baltimore area so I was extremely disappointed when I had to visit this facility. I had a severe reaction to some poison ivy exposure...I broke out in huge blisters all over my arms and legs, my calves and feet were blown up twice their normal size due to swelling, terrible, terrible discomfort and itching. Went to this hospital hoping for some relief. I have had bad allergic reactions in the past and was always given a strong steroid shot, and figured this would be no different. The "Genius" Physician's Assistant, Barbara something-or-other, whom I saw, was not only condescending, but quite frankly insulted my intelligence. She was able to deduct that I was having some sort of dermatitis reaction as a result of coming in contact with something poisonous. First thought, was, "wow." What was the 1st clue that gave that away? The massive blisters all over me? The bleeding from the scratching? The swelling? Unreal. Then, I waited literally an hour for them to print my prescription for Prednisone and Benadryl...yes, over the counter Benadryl. Still had to drive a 1/2 hour back to pharmacy to get the medicine, which I am on for 3 days now and still no relief. Luckily, i arrived back into Philadelphia late last night and will be going to a medical facility here....one that can actually help. Like I told them as I was leaving that worthless place, thanks for nothing. (a month ago)

Terriable sevice. They didnt help at all. Took over 2 hours for them to print a piece of paper. They laughed at our wait. Horrible, ive had better service from a burger king. (a month ago)
