I went into the ER last night after having a series of chest pains around my heart. Prior to going, I called my primary care doctor (which isn’t in network with this hospital) and she suggested that I go to the nearest hospital ASAP. I am never one to overreact so I go. I walk in and list my symptoms: Shortness of breath, can’t walk long distances with being tired, tightness in my chest nausea, etc.... Usually, if someone is complaining of these symptoms, they are escorted immediately to the back and examined for a possibility of a heart attack or anything along those lines. I waited in the lobby area for an hour (not exaggerating) before being triage. They run an EKG, and tell me nothing. Then, the first lab tech Ashley, did not act with urgency when it came to drawing blood for labs. She poked and stabbed at me three different places until I told her to use my hand. Then, the EMT Crystal came 30 minutes later to do something the first person was not able to do. Only this time, she used an IV line to obtain blood for lab work. By then, I am going into the second hour of sitting in this horrible ER, where kids were in handcuffs by local police, just a chaotic scene. When it came time to verify my insurance, they patient advocate( I laugh at that title) runs my insurance and tells me that I have a company that needs to be paid. I asked to be billed because at that time, I’m more worried about these chest pains than a co pay. His response was “no we need payment today”. I said than take this stuff out of me and I will go to my primary doctor in the morning and file a complaint with insurance company. He then says to me “calm down sir, I will bill you” with an attitude. After sitting another 1 and a half (again I am having chest pains) I decided to leave since this was not as urgent as watching the kid who was joy riding with his friends. Or talking about the patient with mental problems. Overall. This place is the worst hospital ever. I have been to some of the worst ranking ones. (2 months ago)

Would prefer to do 0 stars but cannot. AVOID THIS ER AT ALL COSTS IF POSSIBLE!!! GO TO THE KANNAPOLIS OR HARRISBURG ER'S INSTEAD!! My daughter was transported to Northeast via ambulance from he school with a possible seizure and they had her in the waiting room for over 3 hours and when I asked why she was not being seen yet they stated she was in the computer with a headache. Why would I have my child transported for just a headache!!! (a month ago)

Danielle, the girl who delivered my food to the surgery floor, was very nice and more friendly than my doctor. She asked me about my day. Danielle was genuinely interested in my life, and it helped me feel better in recovering from surgery. She made my day!! (2 weeks ago)

If I could rate this with 0 stars, I would. If you want to risk putting your life on the line in the ER , then go ahead. I waited for hours upon hours to be seen, only to get half ass service on my issue!!! You are supposed to feel like you are cared for in a hospital setting, and this place just absolutely sucks!!! Lady at the front couldn't even give me a proper wait time!!! Don't go to this ER, go elsewhere!!! (a month ago)

One of the best hospitals I've ever been in. Very clean and compfortable. We had our little girl here and the staff was so amazing throughout the whole process. (a month ago)
