I was skeptical about this place. I thought It was shabby and in need of updating. I knew this was a very busy hospital, and possibly under staffed. None of that matter Friday, May 5th. My child was brought into this world with excellent and thorough work from some of the physicians who work here. The service was great from start to finish. My wife and child were properly cared for and assisted throughout our stay. I know there are bigger and better hospitals than this, but this experience has made me believe that Cape Fear is just as good as any. (a week ago)

I’m a mother baby/labor and delivery nurse and have been for almost 10 years. I’m always on edge about being a patient in a hospital because I’m usually on the other side of things caring for patients lol. My birthing/postpartum experience here in Feb 2016 was nothing short of amazing! I had some bleeding complications and my daughter had respiratory issues after delivery but Dr. Lewis, L&D/mother baby nurses and the surgical tech assigned to me and my daughter were EXCELLENT in providing care and making me feel comfortable. I’m truly appreciative of the great care we received during my birthing/postpartum period. I literally have no complaints!!! Thank you all. (2 months ago)

Go anywhere else other then this hospital! The doctor and security staff are super sweet. Nurse loves to yell at toddlers in the emergency department when they are pushing a car back and forth trying to occupy themselves while waiting. They offer NO COLORING BOOKS, or anything for children like most hospitals do, and if you're mother is in there the yelling nurse don't care one bit! (a week ago)

Stay away from this place like the plague. My son was sent here from his doctor because he has pneumonia. The whole 2 days he was here it was nothing but a fight. My son has to have his temperature taken rectal, I don't know why, but it's the only way you can get an accurate temperature. They refused for a hour and a half and finally took it to find out, yes he has a temperature and needs Tylenol. They said nothing is wrong with him but, said he has lungs of a 70 year old that's been smoking his whole life. He's 5. They also refused to give him a flu test after asking numerous times to be told, we don't think he has any flu like symptoms and then offered to send him home. We took him home because honestly, we cam provide better care than they can. At least we can take his temp. And give him medicine for it. We took him to a different doctor this morning to find out, no he doesn't have lungs of a 70 year old smoker but he does have severe pneumonia and the flu. They rushed him to Sanford hospital where he is now being treated for his life threatening illness. Also to throw in there, he has severe asthma. This isn't the first time, in fact this type of thing has happened many other times. This crosses the line though. We will never go here again. I wouldn't bring my dog or cat here. The place is filthy. And I will be contacting my attorney. Hopefully nobody dies, if they haven't already, from this hospitals negligence. (3 months ago)
