I'm not writing a review. This is a statement of my appreciation to Brookhaven Hospital's new Cardiac Care Unit; to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff that had to return to work that night to save my life. I would like to say THANK YOU TO ALL!! If I had to travel to another hospital, I don't think I would have survived the longer distance. There are so many different types of emergencies going on in the ER room at the same time, mostly good outcomes and some not so good, but that is why we go to the hospital in the first place, to get help. THANK YOU AGAIN for your hard work. (a week ago)

I was admitted to the emergency room last Friday due to dehydration which resulted in a fall. My blood pressure and temperature were too low and besides a crack on the head and a bad bruise under my chin I was terribly nauseous. The emergency room staff were wonderful, caring and concerned. I knew I was in very capable hands and I am grateful for all their wonderful help. I was then taken to an area in front of the main desk where, after some time, a doctor met with me and had a nurse give me anti-nausea meds, took blood and ordered a CT scan. I knew that I was not seriously ill as they concentrated on my neighbor who apparently had a severe heart problem. It's obvious that this hospital, as most, need more staff but I can say that they all handled their responsibilities professionally and to the best of their ability and I am grateful to all of them. I have never experience such a hospital like this in my life, there has to be some kind of state intervention because the care given is not substantial at all. My brother was brought in by ambulance with gun shot wounds and they never cleaned them or did anything to stop the bleeding. He was given two large bandaid that were leaking blood from the wound. He was discharged without explanation to when the bleeding would stop and instructions on how to take care of his self. (4 weeks ago)

This hospital killed my father, he went in with an upper respiratory infection and he never got to come home again!! I was 18 and my siblings 13 and 15 were forced to live without our father at such a young age. Now I understand why they’re rated one of the WORST hospitals on Long Island. (a month ago)

Still at this hospital since 1030 am (it’s now 4pm) waiting for a ct scan. Gave 1 Star bc it wouldn’t let me give zero. Left waiting for hours with no care. DO NOT COME HERE IF TOU CAN AVOID IT (a month ago)
