I gave birth to my son at Baylor in Grapevine last month and I was extremely happy with the service. I had several different nurses during my stay and they were all very helpful. One nurse in particular, Rachel (I wish I knew her last name), was amazing! She was very attentive and made me feel comfortable, during a very very uncomfortable time. She helped while I was in labor. Another nurse, Renee (not sure if I am spelling it correct), was also amazing! She helped during my stay after giving birth to my son. She was also very attentive and even watched my son for 3 hours because my husband and I were awake for 45 hours straight once my son was born. She saw how exhausted we were and went above and beyond to help. I give the nurses 5 Stars! I do have to mention one negative experience I had, so that this can be taken into consideration for any future moms-to-be. I was not very happy with the lactation specialist. Going into the hospital, I was 100% set on breastfeeding. Unfortunately, I had a very difficult time doing so for different reasons. I expressed that I was in pain many times but I felt she was not very sympathetic. She continued to pull on my nipples and I literally wanted to cry. She was in my room every 2-3 hours and it really bothered me. She would even wake me up if I was trying to nap. I would’ve rather her come into the room upon my request. I appreciate that she was dedicated to her job but I feel she needed to be a little more understanding and I didn’t get that from her at all. I even tried pumping, and I instantly felt judged by her when she saw the pump in the room since I wasn’t actually breast feeding. I do not want to mention her name because I hate to single people out in negative reviews. I truly feel other moms may feel the same way I felt if this continues and it can be extremely discouraging. I’m hoping this review is taken into consideration for training purposes. Please do not let the one negative experience I had sway your decision from choosing Baylor. If I have any more children, I would hands down choose this hospital. I had 100 positive experiences and only 1 bad one during my entire stay there. If you end up experiencing the same thing I did with a lactation specialist, I would recommend voicing how you are feeling and maybe it would help. Unfortunately, I did not do that. To end this review - I want to give another huge THANK YOU to the amazing amazing nurses. (in the last week)

Great techs/aides. Docs will tell you that you’re lying about your symptoms that you’ve had before and have studied my condition extensively, only to be told by a doc “after you go to medical school and get your license” can we talk about this. They let/encouraged me to walk out the door and go home and potential die. And to that smart ass doctor, can you land a 747 like I can? Bet your “precious” medical school didn’t teach you that. Second visit to Baylor Scott & White. My husband needed to be seen and our first visit in the emergency room was just awful. We know that there were other patient's in need of more serious things that needed immediate attention but the overall experience was bad. Came back next day because we left after a long, long night. We explained the situation to the staff. My husband was taken care of and well informed this time. Everyone seemed to be professional, caring and did a fantastic job helping my husband. Thank you Baylor Scott & White. Thank you for taking care of my Husband. (in the last week)

Was sent here to get a biopsy of my thyroid. Initially, they would not schedule it without getting the images, even though my own doctor who wrote the referral said I should have the biopsy done. I brought the images in on a CD and never heard anything back for three weeks. I had to come back in a research it myself, basically. It turns out the staff uploaded the images incorrectly. Now they have to "create a new account for me". It seems like they dont know what is going on. (2 months ago)

I have been to the emergency room twice now, and each time, I have been seen quickly and discharged within a few hours. (note each ER visit was late at night between the hours of 11PM and 3AM) We had our first child here and the experience could not have been better. Even before delivery, the classes they offered greatly helped prepare us for childbirth and newborn care. The nurses in Labor and Delivery we calm and collected even though we were scared. The care we received during our 2-day stay, after delivery, was excellent. Our nurse saw to every need of both mom and baby, and prepared us new parents to take our baby home and care for her with confidence. We highly recommend Baylor Scott and White Grapevine.
