I gave birth here to my son and my entire experience was excellent!!! I had luckily been given a room with 2 beds after the birth that way my fiance was more comfortable staying with us the whole time. They made sure I had everything I needed every time they checked on us. I felt like I was getting top notch care round the clock. I really enjoyed the food too! And the baker of the hospital himself actually brought me the best cupcake Ive EVER had--and I used to work at a custom cake bakery! My time there was so peaceful and happy that sometimes I wish I could go back! Lol. Thank you Bayfront for giving me a once in a life time amazing experience with my son and fiance. If you are having a baby- Go to Bayfront Port Charlotte!! (3 months ago)

My mother called an ambulance for chest pain and was admitted to the emergency room at around 9:30 pm on a Saturday night. I drove from the Tampa Bay area and arrived at her bedside around 11:30 pm. They had already done testing and took her for a CT scan. She returned to the room around midnight. We asked the nurse when a doctor would be in to discuss her test results. She indicated that it might take up to an hour for a radiologist to read the scan and he should be in then. At 1:20 I found the nurse and she said that the doctor had admitted her and went home never bothering to take a couple of minutes to come in and discuss her test results. It is now 11:30 am the following day and a doctor still has not bothered to talk to her. Although the nurses were nice and did tell her she did not have a heart attack (sometimes I think that they are as or more knowledgeable than the doctors) a doctor has not seen her yet and this is totally unacceptable and incompetent. It is unbelievable that the ER doctor did not tell her the results of the tests prior to going home for the night. This hospital is awful and I would recommend a different hospital but not in Punta Gorda or Port Charlotte because they are all terrible. (3 weeks ago)

Worst hospital ever. Don’t go here if you are expecting to be taken care of. I was never given my medication that I take regularly at home. My nurse never read my chart so she didn’t know anything. I had surgery and never got a clear answer what they did to me. This hospital doesn’t deserve to be open anymore. Get some real staff and get your head out of your ass. Bayfront is a pathetic excuse for a hospital and the nurses need a reality check, get off your phones and your asses and do your damn job. I pressed my call button and didn’t get a response for 45 minutes, luckily I wasn’t dead on the floor. I wasnt hooked up to any machines even though I have heart problems. If you have to go to the restroom and need assistance, expect to wait about 30 minutes. Don’t waste your time. Go to a REAL hospital. Nobody here cares. You’d get better care at a McDonald’s. It is a shame what our health system has become. ER was ok, they figured it out on the second try. There are three levels of hospital care I was told, intensive care, something just less than that and the main floor. I was in the mid level with something that just needed to be monitored. The place is hell Alarms going off all night and nobody taking care of it. They are incredibly understaffed and most of the staff is trying to see the hospital doesn’t get sued THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE I DID NOT EAT ONE THING THEY COOKED, IDID NOT EAT FOR THREE DAYS lost meds orders, lost samples for the labs If it’s a ER thing you don’t have much choice but if it’s not get the hell out of Charlotte County (a week ago)

Like a third world ER. 11/12/2017 went to the ER for severe abdominal pain. No one at the front desk for 6 minutes, there was vomit on the waiting room floor and it was not cleaned up during our 30 minute visit. The receptionist was nice but could not get my wife in after waiting 30 minuets. Left and went to Faucet Memorial. Super clean and was admitted in 7 minuets. How sad for Punta Gorda. (2 months ago)
