Mostly good experience except for some of the nurses. Some r amazing, some r cold, some really completely incompetent. A few examples: One of the night staff came to get my newborn and didn’t know how to swaddle him and just handled him so awkwardly it made me just decide to not get any sleep and keep him in the room the whole night. The first nurse that bathed him was so thorough and really gentle. Baby was peaceful. The second one was just rough, tossed him around like a rag doll and was rude to us while doing it. The baby screamed and I was losing it inside. It’s mostly just am vs pm staff. I won’t go back there for my second baby. The hospital felt clean and the cafeteria was good. Rooms were nice. Wife has had 2 children at Baptist Health Lexington in the past 2 years. After having some follow-up appointments at other hospitals in Central Kentucky; boy do we miss Baptist! Cannot overstate how great these folks are, especially compared to more rural hospitals. In our entire time there we may have come across 1 or 2 employees who weren't perfect, but by and large the doctors, specialists, nurses, aides, registration, dietary, housekeeping, security... I mean you name it, and odds are they were extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra step. To those that work here, and try so hard for your patients, just wanted to say thank you and God bless. (a month ago)

Went to the emergency room with my son at 1 am this morning. He was having pain in his back around his spine radiating to his neck and pain in his chest with a blood pressure reading 156/105. They did x-rays, blood work and an ekg. They said all tests were fine. They gave him a shot for pain and sent him on his way. He was still complaining of pain at level 8 from 1 to 10. He did not see a doctor at any time in the 4hrs we were there. Why go to the ER if they don't have a doctor evaluate the symptoms?? (2 months ago)

My family can’t say ‘thank you’ enough to the Baptist Health doctors, nurses, and staff for taking such good care of my father throughout his triple bypass surgery experience thus far. Special shout-out to Justin in the ICU for making him as comfortable as possible his first night post-procedure, and for taking a concerned child’s 3 am phone call and giving an update.
