While busy, the emergency room was still able to x-ray my broken hand and wrap it up in under two hours. Staff was caring and facility was clean. They were able to transfer records to another doctor in a timely manner, although I highly recommend getting your records before you leave if you anticipate needing them as getting the paperwork and signing forms in their records department is necessary after the fact. Alvarado's ER can be really good or next to worthless. There is a D.O. named Benjamin Kilian who is an outstanding provider and who genuinely cares about his patients. A P.A. named Bryna Lawrence, however, is not worth the space that she takes up. If you visit Alvarado's ER and are unfortunate enough to have Ms. Lawrence as your provider, run - do not walk - to the nearest exit. You cannot help but do better. (2 months ago)

Coming here was the worst decision I’ve ever made in my entire life. I arrived at 1 and was not seen till 7. I was with my parents and I told them my pain level is a 10 but they did not care. I was throwing up and could not stand. At one point my mom was helping getting to the bathroom and I fainted. They did NOTHING! Staff was just staring at my mom while she tried to wake me up. They security guy said we don’t have any wheelchairs righ now. After half an hour sitting on the floor I received my wheelchair and the staff that brought it was like ARE YOU GONNA GET UP?? He didn’t even offer help. My mom had to pick me up. I finally get in the back and all I see is nurses joking and one doctor working. I told my nurse that people told me I should come here because it’s less of a wait time, she looked at me and told me who told you this??? We only have 12 beds. You should’ve went somewhere else. Overall experience was horrible. They will be hearing from me regarding neglecting a passed out patient. DONT RECOMMEND IT! (a month ago)

This place is the absolute worst!! Staff shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine AT ALL. I'm sitting in the ER right now with my Son who is to be seen. I've been here a few times and it's been had each time.... but just to give an example, I just watched a son check his Father. (With a possible language barrier) staying that his Father was feeling pain... and then proceeded to gesture and point at his breast, chest and abdomen are with both hands ...sort of waving up and down from breast to belly. The "check-in" clerk and triage person ...then starting taking so our almost yelling at the son right next to his Father saying "WHAT YOU HAVE CHEST PAIN AND YOU DIDN'T CALL 911" ETC. And more but you "get the jist". There's very little that gets to me but my blood instantly began to boil thinking to myself that first of all the son didn't say "chest" pain or anything else for that matter not specifically he just pointed plus should they really be carrying on and yelling at someone about their decisions in a crises,.... right in front of a "possible" chest pain/heart problem patients in the first place ....ARE THEY TRYING TO CREATE HEART ATTACKS????. ARRRGGGGG I'M SO UPSET Geese and this is nothing compared to the other situations I could mention Just Unbelievable!!!! (a month ago)

Best ER staff treated me like I was human being. Like I mattered. Like I was important. Had very difficult experiences at Scripps and these guys made me feel at ease. Thank you. (3 months ago)
